Why the hell do we need to maintain the top 10 status? Do you really think modern warfare is based on standing armies and nation to nation campaigns?

There is really no need to physically fight. Everything is on computers now. A few strategically placed hackers can bring down power, water, communications, banking, etc and send them back to the stone age. The more people they have, the more panic and confusion will occur. And, in case of such an event, their military will be severely strained between taking care of their own citizens and fighting a war. When you are the David in David vs Goliath situation, you need brains more than brute strength. I would fight, but in a way that keeps myself safe from harm with actions that will actually put a dent in their campaign. I don't think guns blazing with a flag wrapped around you kicking and screaming is the way to go about this.

Besides his sniper kills, Häyhä was also credited with over two hundred kills with a Suomi KP/-31 submachine gun, thus bringing his credited kills to at least 705.[4] Remarkably, all of Häyhä's kills were accomplished in fewer than 100 days.

If Canada was ever attacked and our sovereignty jeopardized, I will gladly lay my life in honour of her defence.
I don't care what the odds are or if it was a suicide mission. I will not stand idle as someone tries to take what is ours. Let them take over? Not a chance.
Have a little pride will you?

Canada like the US doesnt have ANY troops anymore that arent veterens of multiple campaigns over seas
but for all the smack talk we get, the Canadian Forces have an extremely decorated military history, something we can all be very proud of
and keep this scenario in the back of your brain next time some queer from the NDP starts talking about cuts to the defense budget, there was a time when Canada had one of the top 10 standing armies in the world we arent even in the top 50 anymore | I know one specific special ops guy from Canada's military that was offered full dual citizenship and a VERY hefty pay increase to work for the US Military.
We have better training, it's been proven. Canadians constantly win all of the competitions for sniping and things like that.
