Good: -Alot of the maintenance above was done roughly half a year ago -the door panels and seats have been swapped to a 97 del sol, so aboslutely no rips or tears on the seats. Along with that, the car itself has a mild 97 Conversion. -aircared till April 2010 -the motor has been swapped out to another d16z6, while the motor was still out, got around to doing the timing belt, water pump, crank seal, spark plug and spark plug wires, as mentioned under maintenance -garage kept -Sound system is pre-wired to add in your own subwoofer/amp combo Bad: -I've own the car since January 2008, and there are a couple of claims during ownership. -May 2009, A jeep backed up into my car resulting a slightly torned bumper and crumpled hood. Front bumper was replaced, rear bumper got repainted, and hood got restored to it's original condition along with repaint. -January 2010, car got broken into and as a result, driver quarter window was broken, steering column plastic destroyed, and trunk latch destroyed also. It's currently at a bodyshop getting all these things fixed under the ICBC claim. [EDIT] The claim has been dealt with and everything is back in OEM condition -I've fixed all of the brake problems now [EDIT]Took it to a few friends of mines to take a look at the brakes, double checked everything, and doing re-adjustments. The brakes are now working much better now Misc Info. What makes it a 1997 Conversion? Technically what I have on my car is a mild 97 conversion, which consists of the 97 front bumper, jdm spec. black door panels w/ map lights, 97 spec seats, and custom painted back panels (which are originally gray). And I shit you not, all these parts are uber rare and a pain in the ass to get a hold of. I was fortunate enough that when I bought the car, it had some of these parts already. The 97 bumper from the dealership costs over 800 bucks before tax, it's not even painted either. The door panels on my car is another piece that's hard to come by, especially when it's all black, has absolutely no wrinkles (which is a major del sol flaw), and JDM map lights (never a USDM option). So how is the D16z6 N/A Tuned? When the stock car was purchased, it had came with an EdelBrock Intake Manifold. So I toy'd around the idea on tossing in some bolt ons, my first mod being the PasswordJDM intake :D. Then later on I've added a custom 2.5'' custom exhaust matched up with a twin loop muffler, but now there's a Spoon N1 on it. Also I threw in a Megan Header, and so far there's nothing faulty about it. The very last thing I've done to it was adding a Comp Cam 59300 and a Fidenza Camgear:eek:, it was just an excuse the timing on the motor was off. The whole valvetrain was re-adjusted to accommodate the Comp Cam. To back up the modifications done to the engine, a stage 1 exedy clutch and light weight exedy flywheel was swapped on, thus getting even more responsive than before. hey, that's my old car. I put the konis on it, but with h&r sports at the time. I sold it back in 2005, this car has really gotten around. |

I'm not sure if it was you or the previous owner, who ever installed the Koni's and sport springs, the ride height was actually un-even. Being that the front springs were sitting on the middle perch while the rears was sitting on the lowest perch.:haha: http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/6099/img0592a.jpg So I changed the perch setting on the front to the lowest, which gave it a more aggressive stance (pictured above) before I installed the H&R Race Springs (in the recent pictures) |
Seen this car countless times on Kingsway. It's a beauty. GLWS. |

First post has been revised with fresh pictures taken as of today And a video of a cold start, the engine and exhaust. Has no problems starting up everytime:thumbsup: Don't mind the valve train though, as it might be a bit loud due to adding the Comp Cam 59300. |
