Everytime I'm flying I just tell myself I'm either going to die a quick death in a crash or make it to my destination and have a good time lol the only thing I hate is when the plane drops like 30 feet and you feel it in your stomach and you look around and it seems like no one else even ft elt it lol Posted via RS Mobile |
I was on a plane that split apart and went down on an island. Amazingly, I survived. Then, I got to experience time travel and other fantastic happenings. |

raid anyone? haha |
I've been doing the long haul flights since I was in the womb, back and forth between canada and europe (12 hour flights as well) In my case, fear was not the problem: BOREDOM was. Take crossword books, gameboy (or whatever the kids call it these days) magazines, etc etc to keep you occupied. As far as 'fear' goes, I can understand. People generally fear things they do not understand. Learn more about flying and maybe it won't worry you as much. If anything does happen, there is absolutely nothing you can do. You may as well NOT worry about it, because worrying isn't going to do a damn bit of good! Find something productive to do, and you'll be fine. |
Let's all try to freak the OP out. |
heres what a A340 looks like burnt up after a crash.... http://www.iasa.com.au/folders/Safet...es/2failed.jpg theres really no way to say sorry for posting that....but its funny... in all honesty....your plane isnt gonna crash....well i guess thats what they told the burnt up people in the above picture too btw, i used to fly on Cessna Caravans....and they will make you shit bricks when you hit any turbulance...ill never fly on one again |
^ That's cruel, man. :p |
I love flying.....I love those tiny little containers our food comes in....I love how the washroom is so compact.....I love being super high. Then again I love skydiving too....=P |
^ yes! Mmmmmm cup noodle near the end of the flight. |
I take Ativan whenever I fly, works like a charm, ask your doctor for some or PM me ;) hahahaha jk Don't PM me, I don't want points |
take some sleeping pills the moment you get on the plane (before takeoff) and you'll be fine. |
There's so many thing that could go wrong... But you'll be fine. In all honesty I felt sorta nervous when I went to Ontario in the summer (kinda weird considering I was joining flight school). Just flying little Cessna's around and throwing them around is ton's of fun. Even though it would only take the smallest mistake you plummet the few thousand feet to the ground. You'll be fine.. So long as there isn't a hydraulic leak in the miles of hydraulic lines that the planes have. |

Grow some ball hair. Step 2: Post this in the metro section VLS to get other pussy responses. Step 3: Get in the plane, sit down, shut up. I wonder if these guys were nervous? |
flying to asia is a smooth trip, but coming back to canada tend to have major turbulence along the way....scared? see if u spot kids around, they're usually are having a time of their life, man up! and like many mentioned, how many people die in car crashes a year compared to plane crashes? |

But yeah, you should be totally fine. Cross-Pacific flights are so common, with very little (major) incidents. Focus on other things instead of focusing on your fears. Movies, in-flight entertainment, magazines, shopping catalogues, sleep, and food are all good distractions. I may be a bit biased, since I love flying and I fly Cessnas :) |

Step 1) Bring stuff to keep yourself busy. Movies, TV shows, music. Step 2) Don't pack your balls in your checked luggage. From the sounds of it yours are pretty small, so bring them with you on the plane and calm the fuck down. Quote:

3 things you could do: Grow a pair Down a mickey or two before you head out Smoke a blunt gotta be kush tho |
Get yourself super tired before the flight. Like party super hard. then drag yourself to the airport and fall asleep on the plane. How's that! Or watch movies and play some games on the airplane. |
find something to occupy yourself flip on a movie, and once you're in the air (especially when it's night time and dark) you'll basically just be in a more confined version of a room don't think that you're on a plane and you'll be fine worst come to worst, just take some sleeping pills and knock yourself out from the time you sit down to the time the plane touches down |
