ICBC SUCKS - insurance question..

Ok so I owe a lot of money to ICBC and I guess the city of Richmond?? for traffic tickets. About $1500 worth of tickets. Anywho obviously I don't want to pay and the period in which I can dispute the tickets has passed. Heres the problem: ICBC won't let me insure my car until I pay all the fines. Is there any way around this? Meaning insuring my car without paying ICBC. Could I get it insured by another company like Canadian Direct Insurance?

Gh0stRider 03-17-2010 01:53 PM

no. pay the tix or no insurance for you.

TOS'd 03-17-2010 01:56 PM

You must suck at driving. Go take public transit.

fsy82 03-17-2010 01:58 PM

so you disobey the law, get fined, dont pay the tickets on time and now want to insure your car...do i even need to say anything...

WGPluto 03-17-2010 02:03 PM

Ok looks like I'm getting it insured in alberta :haha:

fsy82 03-17-2010 02:21 PM

and then icbc and the city will go to collections on you...no win situation for you.

That would be part of getting an Alberta license.

When ICBC finds out that the guy doesn't actually live in Alberta and drives here on a daily basis ICBC will rape OP.

racerman88 03-17-2010 05:00 PM

Time to man up and deal with everything. If you incurred all the tickets then pay for it.

didnt read the replies but private insurance companies still go through icbc so either way you have to pay what you owe.
