I eat at Kirin a lot and they usually have some of these but a lot of times, their menu changes and some isn't available.
BTW murdoc, I know you like your Wah Wing. Have you been there for dimsum? I went last week, it was pretty good but daaaamn they loaded up on the MSG... BIG TIME!!!! All 8 people that went felt sooooo friggin' lethargic after. We all passed out like 45 minutes after eating. Felt sooo gross. Just something to consider.

Nah, there were 8 of us and we had 12 dishes or less and still took some home. Come to think of it, it was probably the spicy tripe. We've all eaten there several times but the tripe was never available til that last time and all 8 of us weren't feeling well after.

I said I would post my dim sum lunch from that day, but forgot until now. So here goes!
I went to Tao Heung 88, a chain in HK that has become phenomenally popular lately, with locations everywhere. They aren't as widespread as places like Maxims, but are much (much) better. Not the best dim sum you'll have, but pretty consistent and great prices during certain times (we went for afternoon-tea, which was no more than $2 CAD for the most expensive dishes, most were about $1) 
Prawn balls dipped in almond shavings. These were okay 
2 types of sausage in buns. They were really good! Yun Cheugn (liver sausage) is one of my favourite chinese foods, and this place makes a good version of it. 
Ha Gao, of course. Tao Hung makes excellent Ha Gao, with large chunks of crispy fresh shrimp inside, really juicy and nice thin skin. 
Cha Siu Bao, another standby. I liked it more than my wife did. I think you can really appreciate the pork fat taste in it, but she said there was too much sauce. I agree about the sauce, but it was still pretty good. 
Phoenix Claw, one of, if not THE best dim sum dish out there. Tao Heung's is very plump and juicy. A great example of it. 
I saw these duck feet on the special menu, and thought I would try them out. They were terrible! The duck skin was way too tough, and the bones didn't come apart easily. They didn't look like they would be this style in the picture.. Totally disappointing. 
My 2nd fave dim sum dish is the way they do the tripe. Unfortunately Tao Heung's wasn't so good on this day. WAY WAY WAAAAAAAY too much sauce, and the dish had barely any tripe in it. This was the most expensive one too, so totally disappointing. 
Their siu lung bao is VERY good. They don't overdo it with the soup, as so many places do lately. It's just the right amount, where you can either sip it out first, or put the whole thing in your mouth which is MUCH better to fully enjoy the taste and texture. 
We tried these special "phoenix eye" dumplings, with no description other than the name. They were just ha gao with some XO on top. Not very good, as the XO just masked the subtle flavour of the shrimp. This is one of those perfect examples of a dish people order for no reason other than to gain face, as it has a fancy name, fancy ingredients, and a high price. As usual, the taste isn't very good at all. 
Dessert was malaysian sponge cake with custard. It was fresh and delicious.
