Did any of you guys need to use spacers upon installation of coilovers?

I installed my HKS Hipermax D coilovers and they were rubbing against my teardrops, I tried my Volk Racing Evo 3 wheels and they're still rubbing. I guess I'm gon' have to use spacers.

Anyone have / had this problem?

Thanks

What offset are the wheels? (Volk's, teardrops may rub if coilover has a larger body)

That I don't know, the info inside the wheel has been rubbed off. I gave up on it and never tried the rear. The front coils were rubbing against my tires big time.

Wheel wise, I only have info for the rear which is 17x9 +37.

Is it safe to use one of those bolt on spacers with bolts? I was thinking of buying a pair but I don't know how reliable they are.

I believe the fronts are 8's never measured it. would you recommend the spacers with extended bolts? I'm guessing I have to run those for the front. I don't know about the rears though.

according to some people on bc240, the rears should be fine. I'm thinking of getting 15mm slip on spacers with extended bolts.

do you know any place where I can get it locally?

I have a set that I bought from PDM last year, I might consider parting. They're bolt on 25mm.

after seeing that pic, I wanna paint my evo 3's gold now

25mm is too much for my front. I'm looking for 15 - 20 mm, thanks though.

finally picked up 15mm spacers.

installed the coilovers, tried the spacers with the wheels I have and they don't clear. the stock studs hit the back side of my wheels. my wheels are 4/5 dual bolt pattern.

any help?

well since I have 4/5 lug dual bolt pattern wheels, the spacers I think were meant to clear ONLY 4 lug wheels.

Make sure you check the adjustment nut and bolt on the bottom of the coilover... you should be able to adjust it a little. I had the same problem when I mounted my nismo LMGT4 wheels.

Either way, get an alignment when you are done dicking around.

haven't driven my car for over a week coz it was making some clunking sound, checked it out today. sure enough, my left coilover rod? cracked in half so now I'm screwed.

is there any way I could rebuild it? or do I have to buy new ones?
