opinions on the 2005 Acura TL Hey guys, I'm interested in picking up a 2005 TL. I'd like to know of any owner experiences with the car and what I should watch out for when purchasing one. Are there any reliability issues with the car? Any input is appreciated! Rule #1: http://2005acuratl.com/wp-content/up...lpaper_015.jpg |
I drove one for a few weeks a few years ago. can't say much about long term reliability, but I enjoyed it. comfortable interior, smooth engine, torquey for a Honda, but wish it was RWD. thirsty on gas though. |
^FWD, you mean? |

Tranny issues for 04-05 07+ is a lot better revised front end/ interior. Otherwise great car Posted via RS Mobile |
been driving it for 4 months now, great car but not so great on gass lol |
drove a manual one and an auto one, actually prefer the auto more, felt like there was less torque steer. not a drivers car though, imo definitely a nice comfortable car, nice interior and good suspension. quality is good too. |
It's a nice roomy car, feels like a tank though. I think there was a few recalls but you can always get it fixed for free at the dealers. |
Thanks for the replies guys, we've decided to pick up a CPO silver 2005 model from burrard acura. |

Drove one for a few months, like the navi system a lot, really good interior room, managed to put a 13000 BTU AC unit with the box in the back seat. Fuel economy and steering feel are poor IMO. Leather seats don't age well, voice command is fun and easy to use |
You should test drivea tsx of the same year. It's a much sportier drive, it just doesn't have the power. I've driven both and went with the tsx. Posted via RS Mobile |
congrads on your TL, how much did you get it for? |
I had a 05 TL for 3 yrs. Great car, no issues what so ever. Good power and good gas mileage, the only complaint I had was the numb steering and the way the car cuts power if you taking a nice 90 degree turn....the nav system is one of the best ever.....cheers. |
great car, almost bought one myself...but went with different route |

What are the mileage specs on these? My gf wants to upgrade. (I want her to get an A Spec:thumbsup:) |
IMO, the 2nd gen TL's have a much nicer interior then the 3rd gens, which is why i bought an 2003 a-spec TL instead of an 05 with navi. ive been driving my car for about 3 years now and i love it. they are great cars in the end man, cant go wrong with them, only thing to watch out for is the transmission. |

^ Pics of your 03-A-Spec Please =) |
IMO 3rd gen looks the best, interior and exterior wise average 400-425km a tank requires premium gas tho 65L insurance aint cheap either...around $2500 for road star |

6 speed gets LSD |
^ 6-spds are hard to find and generally they don't keep their resell as well. Most people who wants a TL wants it with auto. |
true that 6 speed also gets brembo 4 piston |
^ those are worth it! there's a guy selling his 06TL with 6-spd, brembro and supercharged |
