What's funny is I have pretty bad form with my forehand... extremely short preparation and backswing... but I'm pretty athletic, so I make it work... but now that I dedicated myself to practicing my backhand, apparently I actually have pretty good proper form for it. :p

While I would say my forehand is still more dependable than my backhand in a game situation, my backhand technique probably looks way better. :lol

I think if I continue working on it, my backhand might end up being better than my forehand... no joke. When I was practicing against the wall, my backhand was way more controlled and consistent than my forehand!

I'm going to have some time this coming week... probably good to play anytime Saturday, Sunday afternoon before the Canucks game, and Monday night from 6:30pm until dark.

TOS'd 05-04-2010 02:02 PM

mmmm today is a nice day to play

G 05-04-2010 02:11 PM

Today is not a good day to play where I am :(

InvisibleSoul 05-04-2010 02:23 PM

Tonight is the only night where I could possibly play until Saturday, so I'm going to try and get out to Gladstone after work... but not sure if I am yet.

InvisibleSoul 05-04-2010 03:10 PM

FUUUUUU... started raining heavy downtown 10-15 minutes ago... prospects for tonight not looking good.

TOS'd 05-04-2010 03:28 PM

WTff it was all sunny, then i look outside, and i see a big ass dark cloud hanging over me. Still sunny outside too though.

orange7 05-04-2010 05:19 PM

Even though it's sunny outside, it's still pretty cold..

gonna wait 2 more weeks before i hit the court

Do you know how much they charge? I'm just looking for the cheapest strings possible.

i buy 10packs of strings from tenniswarehouse and get tad's to string for $10 labor by providing my own strings. overall, you'll save about $100 or more depending on the strings you get.

btw, a ohbh is a lot easier to learn for men because it is a natural swing motion, just like the forehand. however, it also requires more strength, and this is where women like to use the 2hbh. if you look at the pro women tour, almost all of them use 2hbh except henin.

i have solid form for both bh and fh, and the only thing keeping me down is my fitness level because i study too much. we should have an rs king of the court day. we'll see who's #1 =)

canuckfan72 05-05-2010 04:14 PM

Haha, my buddy and I didnt have the greatest of luck yesterday. We walked over to the high school courts and not even 15min it it started pouring, even some hail started to fall. We tried just volleying so the balls wouldnt get too messed up but the rain was too much to we had to run home =/

It depends what kind of string you're looking for but @ Tad's its about $30 per racquet.

Good day to play today

InvisibleSoul 05-05-2010 04:52 PM

Canucks game gets priority!

InvisibleSoul 05-06-2010 10:22 PM

Hey... so who wants to do this?

I'm thinking early Sunday afternoon... like around 1pm. Gives plenty of time to play and get back in time before the Canucks game at 5pm. Weather forecast is looking very promising.

I'd prefer to play in my own backyard at Gladstone... but I could travel a little ways if it's better for others.

TOS'd 05-06-2010 11:58 PM

^ damn, this weekend is no go for me. i might be free sometime during next week though =/

I'll play with you at gladstone later in the week. You can help me train for my tournament or just even rally to get into the groove. You're probably better if you can play at the 4.0 - 4.5 level. This sunday is mother's day so I can't.

InvisibleSoul 05-07-2010 03:55 PM

I'm good to play Monday night after 6:30pm... but after that, not sure when I'll have time to play.

InvisibleSoul 05-07-2010 04:04 PM

I actually don't have a shortage of people to play with... but I thought I'd expand my horizons a bit and finally hit with someone from RS after so many years. :p

same here. i have friends that i play with all the time. some are really good 5.0+ provincial players and some are 4.0-4.5 who are still really good. i'm just kinda curious at how you would rate yourself as 4.0-4.5 when you only learned a backhand a year ago. it's definitely good to play against someone different to get out of that comfort zone when you know how your friends play. if you're up for tennis at gladstone monday, let me know. i'll hit some with you.

InvisibleSoul 05-09-2010 11:24 AM

Realistically, probably no more than 4.0 unless I'm having a really good day.

yameen 05-09-2010 06:44 PM

you want to hit some at gladstone tomorrow? or anyone else who's interested?

InvisibleSoul 05-10-2010 12:25 AM

I'm most likely going to go to Gladstone tomorrow night at about 6:30pm... was going to play with some of the regulars that go there, but if you wanted to come down, we can hit some. I'm 5'4" but somewhat stocky and I play with a Babolat Pure Drive Roddick and carry a Babolat six-pack bag.

TOS'd 05-10-2010 10:30 AM

^ haha sounds like me but im a bit taller and much MUCH younger =p

anyone in for possiby tonight? if not ill try for tmr at gladstone.
