Z4-M! Just because you don't have to pay duty the bull shit 6.1% duty when you bring the car over :) |
There is nothing wrong with the miata and you have bigger issues in life if you are so insecure that people will question your manlihood. There is someone out there that thinks your rice rocket with spoon, fork, moogen parts and 3" TIR exhaust is just as retarded. But I have to agree, the Miata would be last pick with the S being my first. I've driven the S enough and you just can't describe how it drives. Sure, it lacks torque and as you already mentioned, not exactly quiet but the overall experience is very engaging. And I am too poor for BMW maintenance. BTW, my opinion is slightly biased as I am also looking for an S in the states. But in spa yellow and some bronze volks ce28 and I'll call it a day. GL |
Z4M. It has the M badging for a reason. |
Portland has a yellow ap2 with 60k miles for under $18k. The owner claims he was the first owner, and the car has never been in an accident. I can send you his contact if you're interested! The car should still be posted on portland.craigslist.org Quote:

PIAA sucks! Bosch ICONS are by the far the best blades i've used.. |
^ Valeo Ultimates are pretty good too. I'm pretty sure it comes out from the same factory. |

btw, how do u plan on checking the car for damages? Do u know a good mechanic or u just look @ the carproof/carfax reports? |
-CARFAX -Pictures from specific angles, pics of VIN plate -Ask friend from Seattle/Portland to check out the car -Request for a full inspection at a BMW/Honda/Mazda dealership.. I will prepay with my credit card by calling up the dealership |
S2K |
since this is going to be your fun WEEKEND car, I would pick the Z4M. Maintenance costs wont be crazy because it is not your daily driver. |

watch this, you can't go wrong with a z4m: |
For the guy that says it'll be my weekend driver, my weekend consists of a roundtrip from Kelowna to Vancouver (easily 1200kms a weekend!) Thanks for the vid SS.. That's sick.. |
S2K gets my vote. Z4 looks funny imo, and Miatas as mentioned above have no horsepower. But they're fun to drive, so if you're not looking for torque I guess that'd be a decent choice. But I'm still leaning on the S2K |
Don't get the S2k, it's a fun car but its weak point is long highway cruising. Lots of wind/engine noise, lousy stereo, and you'll be cruising at high revs which means poor hwy mileage. BMW for sure. |

tried bosch and it was pretty shitty, but that time they never had the icons. Maybe i will give that a try after my piaas are done |

K this is from an S2000 owner, i would get the Z4M, i raced one and got demolished. Straight line fun, is what the Z4M owns all of the above in. Corners? i'd take the S by far easily. Interior, well thats a stupid question :D Heres the way i see it, RAW FUN : s2k FUN: Z4M |
Prob be better if you get opinions from someone who actually DROVE the car. http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php...ic=680195&st=0 The guy went from S2000 --> Boxster S --> Z4M --> Boxster S Though the thread compares Boxster S and Z4M, you get pretty good info about the ride of Z4M. |
Z4M obviously if you can afford the maintenance. Shouldn't really be comparing that car to the other two. But then the s2k is just so much fun. Best part of it is the engine and the transmission. Rev happy and really really slick shifting. Cheap maintenance and solid reliability too. |

Most people can't just jump into a z4m and expect fast lap times and extract its full potential. It takes time. :) Watch the top gear video with z4m vs boxster s. |
Thanks guys! :) I like the 986/987S cars too. The 987 is outside of my budget (38k+ usd) and I've read about all the RMS issues on the 986. |
If it's mostly highway (Kelowna-Vancouver), definitely go for the Z4M. |

how about a 350z roadster? its got more leg room than the s2k... |
