Is it illegal to shoot a bird?

with a air BB gun, (no gas, just pump action) at a woodpecker.
i live at house. backyard is a mini forest with a creek.

So you're asking if it's legal to harm wildlife?
Jesus, this is so stupid I'm not even going to answer it.

i wasnt asking about ants, grass, snails, etc. i was asking about woodpecker. thanks.

I don't think it's illegal to kill a woodpecker (they're not endangered), but even an air BB gun is considered a firearm under the law, and firing one in the city IS illegal.

use an airsoft sniper on it. At least your not killing it. just scare the shit out of it. use it on the body.

When one of my dad's friends lived in the apartment next to wendy's on cambie and 8th or 7th, he used to shoot and kill the gulls and they would fall into the wendys parking lot. After a few of them, wendy called the cops on him and the cops took away his pellet gun and told him it is okay to shoot the gulls if they are a pest, you just have to clean it up. So he went and bought another one and this time he just shoots them on his patio and then cleans it up. No problems after that

bartone 04-25-2010 09:28 AM

maybe you should call animal control or equivalent instead

notching 04-25-2010 09:38 AM

just do it.

For $100 il wear a bandana and sneak up on the woodpecker from behind and slice his neck with my Rambo knife so as to not make noise.

Let me know.

my bb gun is just a regular toy sing hand cock gun. with the distance ill be shooting it from, the only way i can kill it is by shooting it in the eye or something.

to all u animal lovers, fuck u. if u eat meat stfu. as long as more people fail me and say shit like " let me call animal protection for u," im gonna try to harm it even more.

the sleep deprivation --> physiological effects that the woodpecker is causing me is the equivalent harm that i can cause with a bb gun.

if u love it so much, come and catch it for me.

or if there is a number i can call that will take it away for free put the info up here. thanks.

Fafine 04-25-2010 10:53 AM

ur bb gun wont kill it, go to canadian tire or army and navy and get the pellet rifle. and who would know if you killed a bird in your backyard?

Lomac 04-25-2010 11:07 AM

How the hell is a woodpecker keeping you awake? Try living in an area where you're constantly bombarded by 10 woodpeckers each morning and then complain. That's what I deal with every morning. :)

By the way, many woodpeckers are endangered.

I'm tempted to break out my rifle and shoot the birds every time those little motherfuckers are chirping outside when I'm trying to sleep.

how? currently its serving me as my alarm clock between 5-8am.
i dont know how u can survive with 10 woodpeckers. respect.

benwang 04-25-2010 11:48 AM

i know its not right to harm wild life
but i feel like to shoot the birds when they constantly pooped on my car
after i washed it.

ZenZa 04-25-2010 12:38 PM

if it's just a normal BB gun, i doubt you'll hurt it much, maybe just scare it off

i used to shoot crows in my front yard because getting woken up by a dozen crows cawing early in the morning gets me in a bad mood for the rest of the day

but all it did was ruffled their feathers a little and get them to fly off and piss someone else off

I'm tempted to break out my claws and hit the humans every time those little motherfuckers are building shit on my habitat.

no_clue 04-25-2010 01:54 PM

wtf did that guy shoot ducks? they dont even quack that much

are they for your chinese restaraunt or something?

shenmecar 04-25-2010 02:22 PM

just do it without anyone knowing. You're only breaking the law if you get caught.
