Anybody interested in getting a switchblade key from the 07-08 TL Type S?
This will work on the 04-06 TL, 04-08 TSX, RSX and EP3($20 extra and I'll need a key to swap the chip out)
You will get the switchblade milled.
You will need to cut and program it yourself or it can be done here at the dealership.

ok what if i want to switch to the switch blade design.

have 05 rsx s

im currently running Compustar 2 way pager alarm.

I still want to operate my 2 way compustar, do i just get the switch blade and rekey the key, not necessary have to reprogram? since if i do, my compustar probably wouldt work?

what would it be?

$150 is including programing, fob and rekey? or..?

one of my buddy with the 05 TL might be interested

let me know thx

does it come with one or two fobs? i may only need just one, what would the price be

TheSalesman 04-29-2010 04:58 PM

The switchblade has a chip inside that needs to be programed to the car. Does your compustar bypass that and use its own immobilizer?

It is approximately 150 for the key fob to be milled to the type of blade we need.
Cutting and programming the key will be extra.
1 fob per order. You can order 2 and have a memory 1 and memory 2 if you want.

TL_99 04-29-2010 05:05 PM

this is a long shot. can this be used for my honda fit?

TheSalesman 04-29-2010 05:33 PM

The chip inside this key won't program to the Fit.

Mugen EvOlutioN 04-29-2010 05:40 PM

damn slightly more expensive than i thought

$150 just for key, and cutting is extra hmm

im not too sure

when i lock the doors with my compustar, stock alarm red light still comes on

im guessing its bypassed? but i remember my alarm installer mention both horn will still come on. So i wonder if stock immoblizer and aftermarket immoblizer both still works

bomboi1 04-29-2010 06:43 PM

i just looked on the site from where the pics are from

Yes, it is 119USD from the US.
So add shipping and tax to that.

Mugen EvOlutioN 04-29-2010 07:18 PM

so i guess i can just get the fob, rekey it, and i can use it i guess without programing.

Those that do have to do the programing, looks like you will have to prepare $250

is $150 taxes in?

TheSalesman 04-29-2010 07:19 PM

you'd probably need the chip from your original key in the car though.
150 taxes in.
Might be cheaper, ill have to get final pricing once we get 10 people signed up.
I can get the key cut for you for like 10 bucks.

Mugen EvOlutioN 04-29-2010 07:44 PM

and programing will cost roughly...?

oldsnail 04-29-2010 08:39 PM

wii this work for Ep3's?
the Ep3 is quite similar the DC5 Rsx's.

soo.
150 for the key.
how much is programming and re-keying from the dealer? roughly

thanks

TheSalesman 04-29-2010 08:51 PM

cutting will be about 10 bucks.
programming, $75 but of course ill talk to the service manager and try to get a lower rate for you guys.

It's not the key that is the problem. It is the immobilizer chip that might not work.
I havn't heard of it working for an EP3.

Mugen EvOlutioN 04-29-2010 09:27 PM

guessi gotta go find out

TheSalesman 04-29-2010 09:28 PM

Just talk to whoever installed your compustar or even some of the sponsors on here that carry the compustar alarms.

FS1992EG 04-29-2010 09:31 PM

what about 07 civic si?

TheSalesman 04-29-2010 09:50 PM

^ Im pretty sure the chip wont work with that.

CP.AR 04-29-2010 09:58 PM

if ONLY i had the extra cash rolling around...

TheSalesman 04-29-2010 10:00 PM

^ you can get the fob for now and get it cut and programmed when you have more cash!

!Aznboi128 04-29-2010 10:16 PM

Would it work for a 99 accord? I doubt it but I'll ask anyways

The key will work but the buttons won't.
It will be about $20 more too and you'll need to give me one of your keys.

!SG 04-30-2010 05:46 AM

pfff, you think thats expensive? try $350 for a stupid lexus key! STARTING

i guess programing is the shitty part :(

matter 04-30-2010 08:40 AM

I did this mod for an EP3.
-In my case(and I think for RSX); you don't need to re-program the immobilizer IF you are swapping the chip from an old key(you have to cut up the spare key)
-programming the FOB is easy and DIY
-mine is a milled key, not the older side cut style so it only cost me $60(key)+$10(cut)+some free time!
