How do you secure your storage locker?

thats a good idea too, but unfortunately my storage locker is wooden, and i dont think it would be that hard to break in. I would rather just repalce the lock than having to deal with getting the bracket fixed or even the locker itself.

why even bother replace the lock if it's that easy to break in? just use a $10 cheapo cable lock to 'secure' it... no point spending too much money on the lock when they can just break through some other area...

if you take a picture of the locker, we could possibly give you more suggestions.

for now, the $10 cable lock is the best bang for buck.

Yah i'll try to take a picture of the locker on the weekend...

the same day i found out that it was broken into, i just put another $5 combo lock on there...

I talked to a few people who live in condos, and i havent really heard of a building where their storage lockers havent been broken into

yup, it's unfortunately a pretty common thing to happen. not a lot of security measures for the most part especially if it's an inside job. my locker area is secured with an electronic key fob and a camera watching the area outside of the main locker room door.

but there's no camera inside and there's an unalarmed fire exit with no camera on the other side of the locker room. so basically, once they get in, they can exit unseen and they can take all the time in the world inside to break in and it's all unrecorded. FAIL.

i wrote my strata advising them of these security shortcomings but they just wrote back with some excuse about cost, etc. i mean, if they just made the fire exit an alarm-will-sound-if-opened type of exit, then at least there'll be video evidence of them having to leave by the front door with is watched with a camera. anyway...
