I still use firefox because of their add-on, I'm used to using hot keys to launch my favorite sites and unfortunately chrome doesn't offer that.

woob 05-15-2010 05:20 PM

stuck on Opera. I cant live without mouse gestures and I dig my minimalist customization (especially after upgrading to 10.5).

LiquidTurbo 05-16-2010 08:57 AM

Ya Opera is nice too. Mouse gestures extension available on Chrome too.

MaximalLazy 05-16-2010 10:58 AM

Using chrome now, but cannot play youtube videos(embedded) on forum(sometimes).

Jmac 05-16-2010 11:07 AM

Opera owns everything for my needs. Mouse gestures, speed dial, customized inline searches, file hosting, media server, mail client, IRC client, account syncronization, etc. not to mention it already has ad-blocking and script-blocking capabilities built right in without having to install any add-ons.

AzNightmare 05-18-2010 08:41 AM

At 1:47, you can clearly see the mouse being clicked before the Lightning button gets pushed. :)

I've been using Chrome for the past 6 or 7 months now.
Can't go back to any other browser.

hotjoint 05-18-2010 08:52 AM

been using chrome since it came out. I like it way more then ie or ff

youtube/flash videos causes Chrome to be unstable for me. Pretty sure it's already a known issue.

Anyone else having scrolling problems? Pointer always gets locked to the scroll bar so the page moves up/down with your mouse. So fucking annoying

i haven't encounter any stuff you guys listed. Flash worked for me and no problem with scrolling either. Only problem listed above is opera for me =P some site flash videos work and some doesn't. Not a bad browser just too much stuff in there for my liking. I prefer simple and clean.

Switched about 2 months ago. FF kept crashing for some reason and was noticeably slower than Chrome on some stuff. CHROME FTW! I still use Firefox when I need to though

valent|n0 05-23-2010 07:57 PM

I am still on firefox because of the adds on as well

but every time I fixed a friend's computer I always throw chrome in there cause its faster to download and install I think :P

Expresso 06-04-2010 09:13 AM

FF has been crashing a lot for me as well, so I'm giving Chrome a shot. I like how fast it is, but the biggest thing for me right now is you can't access your previous history through the address bar. Or am I missing something?

Looking for something similar to ie/ff where you can just click the address bar and it brings up your most visited sites. Kind of pain to open a separate window to accomplish this.

striderblade 06-04-2010 11:39 AM

Hope this is what you guys are talking about. You can install this extension into chrome. You can even customize the look of the menu.

And here's another one. Could be better.

Haven't looked into this yet....but is there any way to make the scrolling in Chrome like Firefox with smooth scrolling?

SkinnyPupp 06-05-2010 01:47 AM

If there's a feature you want in chrome, look for an extension first. Chances are, it'll be there.

^Thanks...but like I said I didn't even try to search yet...

After playing with Chrome for a bit, I don't see what lures people to switch from FF. I do like the minimalist layout though, when compared FF really seems quite bulky and takes up a lot of space even though I don't have any bars added on.

striderblade 06-05-2010 01:59 AM

i find this smooth scrolling extension better than the one posted above.

I thought that I'd just give this thread a little bump:

Right now I'm using Opera as my main browser instead of Firefox. Sometimes it seems a bit slower, but the mouse gestures are fucking awesome...you can even make your own. And when you switch tabs there's something that pops up like when you alt+tab.

All in all, personally I really like Opera...even though it seems a bit slow sometimes...

And for you guys with Chrome, I totally understand why you guys endorse it, but personally I like Opera better and I think you guys should give it a try too.

SkippyLang 06-07-2010 11:46 PM

chrome has a long way before it becomes as user friendly as ff. its fast, ill give it that. maybe im just too used to ff
