i filled my car with 89 octaine gas twice. Once at chevron, and the other at shell. I drive the car pretty aggresively, but usually consistant. I have to say i got a lot more mileage from the chevron fuel compared to the shell fuel. I'm sticking with chevron now.

how much more roughly
i notice with my other car
if i fill up with 87 the computer says it can run less mileage, if i add 91 it will run further distance. the manual says 87 or 91 is both fine, but if want full performance add 91

before,,, go for regular gas @ any station, about 12l/100km
used husky 94, milage improved 10.x L /100km
used chev 92 from US, improved even more. 8.x l / 100km
everywhere i filled up it say eth. up2 10%. (i guess husky 94 has eth also as somebody posted)

i guess i should try some other gas stations...i've been sticking to Shell 91 cuz of AirMiles + extra CC credit...
I did try Chevron 92 before, and the fuel economy was much worse than with Shell 91.

Mileage varies with your driving style, remember. Chances are if you fill up in the states, you're doing mainly highway driving. Posted via RS Mobile | |

i honestly think its not accurate testing gas station by gas station. It is so hard to compare what kind of mileage you are getting. Since too many factors, how much are you pumping exactly. Even when ur pump stop, u can still pump anywhere from 1-4 Liters, i did it before.
Plus driving habite, how much hwy,city driving you need, traffic....just too many variables.

Also, as Lomac said, US gas isn't a fair comparison, unless you're driving the same amount on the highway as you do when you fill up with the Canadian stations.

I put $35 at each gas station. I got about 300km from chevron, and about 250km from the shell. Both 89 Octane.

LOL @ the people who claim better mileage with another gas station. I got news for you, you operated your vehicle slightly differently, or the ambient temperature was different, or it was windier during one tank, or you went on more hills, or you accelerated quickly more, or you carried more people, etc etc etc etc.
It's not the brand of gas you used.
Just go with a quality Top Tier Gas and call it a day.

Posted via RS Mobile | lol. yeh i know that, im going by city driving in city, driving habits are same. i reset milage computer on navi every day to get a better reading. , the milage test was done over a period of a 2-3 days .. not just 1 trip.. for the same route... other factors yes. but when diff is between 2-4 ltr. dont think wind will be so much of a factor
and if u read my comparison above. its not just different gas stations... its diff octane altogether....
i did some more reading on it, "The additives are not added to gasoline until the last minute when the fuel is being loaded into those 18 wheel tankers " ..so even if it might come from the same place.. it might not end up being the same in the end..

the funny thing is when i was driving with chevron gas, i was driving around with 6 people in the car to richmond and back. There was lots of weight, and i was probably driving less conservatively. I drove more like a granny with the shell gas and it didnt help. I know the thought that gas is gas, but quality can definitely be different. That's like saying all motor oil for your car is the same.
