everything is stock excpet my bodykit and rims

should I bother spending all that money? cuz i also really wanna get a standard

just wondering on your guys opinion

What year is it?

There's nothing wrong with tuning a car that has a slushbox in it. However, it really depends what you want to do with the car...

maxx 05-20-2010 11:16 PM

lol, do what you want.

you're tuning this for yourself, not for other people.

boatcaptain 05-20-2010 11:25 PM

sell the car!!n buy a standard!!

flagella 05-20-2010 11:40 PM

fck no

StylinRed 05-20-2010 11:55 PM

If its the latest Gen celica... then no

you can't make it into anything... check out www.newcelica.org and read up

you could buy a gt-s engine and swap it :) or a 3sgte engine and swap it then you can mod those things like crazy

even swapping engines and then modding would be cheaper than trying to mod the gt engine

JSALES 05-20-2010 11:58 PM

i'd rather tune a standard vehicle but the choice is yours

flagella 05-21-2010 01:27 AM

this isn't even about tuning. Why would you even drive an automatic if you are even a bit of a sport car enthusiast?

Qmx323 05-21-2010 06:19 AM

because people overprice standard models

especially 240sx's

i guess op could try a 5 speed swap

you should consider getting rid of your 'body kit and rims' first and go clean if you are actually going to start working on it

Mugen EvOlutioN 05-21-2010 08:18 AM

hell no

first its automatic, 2nd its gutless, 3rd its a corolla engine..

sell tat POS and buy a GTS manual

jpark 05-21-2010 08:40 AM

^well technically the gts still is a 'corolla engine' except its 2zz from xrs :D

Mugen EvOlutioN 05-21-2010 08:49 AM

completely different

one of the best 1.8L engine

hk20000 05-21-2010 10:14 AM

ok think about it....

you are trying to mod an automatic Corolla S with 2 doors and a fancy shell

If the above sentence doesn't make you think "oh shit maybe it's a bad idea" then go right ahead.

Like most people said, it's your car. Tuning an automatic Celica or hooker and blow? It's your choice. Either way you aren't getting your money back or your money's worth.

Titanium1.8 05-21-2010 10:32 AM

Judging from the bodykit and rims... Maybe you can tune it by installing a louder exhaust?

Mugen EvOlutioN 05-21-2010 10:35 AM

^

and do what?

have 140.2hp???

flagella 05-21-2010 11:51 AM

maybe some stickers too? those increase whp I heard.

Mugen EvOlutioN 05-21-2010 12:09 PM

needs a dyno tune

hk20000 05-21-2010 01:43 PM

"yeah bro I got 50HP worth of sticker on I gotta put on a wing too or I'll be flying off the road"

StylinRed 05-21-2010 03:05 PM

rofl hk20000 so petty

:P

downhiller is right..

corolla xrs = celica gts motor = 2ZZ-GE or something.

OP's celica= 1ZZ = gutless

honestly, dont bother. drive it off a cliff, profit, call it a day.

Leopold Stotch 05-21-2010 04:06 PM

^ well it was in the Celica GTS before it was in the previous gen Corolla XRS, plus the one in the corolla is slightly detuned.

turbo or nitrous, it solves everything :D

smk 05-21-2010 04:07 PM

the new XRS is not longer the yamaha engine, it is now just a regular 2.4L camery 4 banger. Nothinig special

was it detuned..? i remember it still packed a punch though.. 180hp w/ the same six speed box.

i think same as the gts celica..

now if that motor was in a MR-S...... :D

i find toyota motors a bit lacking nowadays... with the exception of their inline 6's, 3S series motors and their 4AG's..
