I find buddy's quote at the end amusing:

Quote:

Let's face it, this country was founded on tax issues. We got tired of King George
So...because you got tired of being taxed without representation, you're going to tax us without representation? Oh, the ironing is delicious today.

I think I must have went just a couple weeks before it opened... but now that they are open, gives me a reason to actually go there now. :D

Was just down at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets, and they have both a DKNY and a DKNY Jeans store... awesome for me!

Lamesauce.

Okay, so who actually initiated the tax exemption again?

huck-jai 07-21-2010 08:24 PM

I was on Walmart by the outlets on the 18th. They honoured the no tax.

saiko 07-21-2010 10:06 PM

Awsome, going tomorrow for other reasons but hoping to stop by for engine oil!

sleazyho 07-22-2010 12:19 AM

Seattle Premium Outlets being bitches pretending they don't know about the tax exemption. Bellevue Square stores like Nordstrom are still doing the tax exemption. They're also having their anniversary sale til the 1st of August so pretty good shit going on down there.

This was yesterday BTW

Gumby 07-22-2010 09:31 AM

Damn it, I'll be in Seattle July 30-Aug 1. By then, all the good stuff might be gone and more and more places might stop honoring the no-tax thing.

There is nothing in the news that suggests the ruling was overturned.

went to walmart over the weekend to buy bb torch...
was not pleased that i had to pay the tax... they said its over now (tried 2 walmarts both said the same thing)

good thing, declared it at the border and they didnt tax me

ws6ta 08-31-2010 11:23 AM

nordstorm doesn't charge tax to bc residents but they do have to pay it themselves!

There is no longer any tax exemption if anybody is still curious. NO store in Seattle Premium did it and neither did Hollister / A&F / Forever21.

JHatta 08-31-2010 12:39 PM

w t f

that is gay.

saucywoman 08-31-2010 12:46 PM

I posted this somewhere but basically the exemption was overturned so that ALL canadians (whether from BC, AB, Sask, etc) pay the tax; no one is suppose to be exempt. This is what I was told by someone at the Nike Outlet, who said it came into effect as of July 16 and if any shops give you an exemption they are paying the taxes themselves then.

I was over at the Tulalip Outlets last weekend and many of the stores didn't allow the tax exemption. Only a couple of them did :(
