how do i tow an uninsured car without aircare or a working engine

hhahaa, im buying a car, but the engine wont start. also im not sure if it has aircare or not.

i tried bcaa but they said that the car needs to have real insurance, not just 1 day insurance. any ideas?

thanks

generally BCAA will look for the vehicle to be insured before allowing the cardholder to complete a tow using their program. I ran into that once, however, i found that as long as the car had plates on it and the cardholder was with the vehicle at the time of tow, the tow truck driver ran it through as a BCAA tow without issue.

failing that, you will probably end up having to just pay for the tow of the vehicle to you desired location.

You can try that with BCAA? Or if your getting such a killer deal buck up and pay $40-60 for another tow company to come pick it up....

I've never had an issue with having a car towed via BCAA if I only had permit tags on it. Just go to an autobroker, pick up a set of day permits, tape 'em to the car and call BCAA back. So long as there's actual insurance and plates on it, they'll tow it.

Would transporting the car on a flatbed still require insurance? I think there may be a difference between this and a tow, because a towed vehicle is still "touching the ground".

I don't think you would since I've seen cars without plates on flatbeds before. Wouldn't it be the same as a car transport truck (don't know the actual name for it)? Correct me if I'm wrong though

I've gotten BCAA to tow cars before with either just a day permit, or any plates. They should be able to tow it.

One time I called BCAA, they said that with a day permit, they're only allowed to tow it to a mechanic shop.

Can anyone chime in on this?

i think its cause most if not all mechanic/bodyshops have insurance that covers non-insured cars once in there posession. maybe thats why they will allow it......

tow trucks can tow anything, with or without insurance

the city of coquitlam has sent various tow trucks to my block to tow away uninsured vehicles left on the street...it's never been a problem

i simply transfered my insurance over from my daily driver to my undrivable car, got BCAA to tow it, then transfered the insurance back - cost me nothing.

it come down to the driver that shows up. i've towed like 5 times with bcaa. one time the vehicle only had storage insurance, no motor, no front end. the driver was chill and we just chatted about performance cars. then i had another driver show up a different time when the car was heading to the body shop. had the motor in but not running and had fiberglass unpainted panels everywhere. took one look at the car and drove off saying literally "we don't tow cars like this" car had insurance and everything, i actually had to call bcaa back and we had a 3 way conversation with the dispatch and the driver. the dispatch got really pissed at the driver plus he refused to return and complete the tow so i ended up waiting another 15 mins and another driver showed up and we were on our way.

i have a tilt deck trailer? if you have a few friends to push we could get it up there no problem. i'll be cheaper then a tow truck
