this is officially the most fucking retarded NHL game EA has ever made, at least for the PS3 version.

- online play is a joke. half the time I can't control my players (literally a fucking 1 second delay between me pressing the button til the guy on screen does it). I'd say 70% of my losses came from the inability to control my guys as I would normally.

- goalies do stupid shit all the time, like, doing a split across the crease when there's absolutely no reason to, leaving the top side wide open, and the list goes on. makes me so damn mad when goals get in like that

- stupid fucking stick-breaking happening way too often in a game

- puck hitting the post WAY too often, I hit posts on average 4+ times a game.

- lame shit online matching system that is buggy as hell. sometimes i have to try to search for games repeatedly because the system couldn't connect me to the other guy

Overall this game is just NOT fun at all, it's gotten worse and worse every year for EA. It's like every year they make little things "better" but then take giant steps backwards in gameplay. They try to make it "realistic" without realizing that they're also taking the FUN out of videogames.

I fucking hate this game.

I notice that for EASHL, you get better lag playing on the home team. I'm guess whoever is on the home team is the host.

Usually if we end up on the away side we keep hitting confirm to test the delay from when A is pressed and when the CONFIRM sign goes up. If it's too laggy we leave and try again.

They should make an option where u can choose the region in which matchups are made.

And your complaints are valid but I think this is the best NHL yet. Glitch goals and glitch quitting is gone = GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.

Yup this game is totally broken. What I hate the most is that if you're trying to switch to a dman in your zone, he'll automatically skate up the ice before you can control him which takes him out of the play. I've had plenty of goals scored on me because of this. I've stuck strictly to offline play this year. Most online players just skate around and do dumb shit, plus I hate the new passing system :)

I don't know if you guys remember or not, but in NHL 2006/2007, you were able to see your online opponents rank, record, reputation, country of origin, and connection strength. I was able to weed out playing those that had horrible rep (quits too often, cheats, scores only cheese goals) and those that had horrible ping time. Cheese goals were prevalent but at least i was able to defend them.

Then, they started removing those features one by one on each and every version that came out afterwards; first it was the ability to see your opponent's rank; then it was their record; then their connection strength. Now with NHL 11 you can't see SHIT - you can barely judge the connection quality by how laggy your button inputs are at the matchup screen.

EA - WHAT THE FUCK? why are you making this franchise worse and worse every year???? Why can't I have more say in how I want my online match ups be like? I'm sick of paying money every year for the same broken shit that EA pumps out...

Granted, it's good that they fixed the glitch-quitting and glitch goals, BUT, that is not to say that they don't exist, at far as glitch goals are concerned. TOO many times my goalie or computer-controlled players would do the DUMBEST shit, i.e. watching the puck as it lays 1 feet away from them, or like hotjoint said, moving out of position just before you take control of them, taking you out of the play. The number of WTF moments I've had with this game is higher than all of previous years combined - yes, it's THAT frustrating.

There's a good chance that this may be my last NHL game from EA... not that they care or anything, but whatever.

Well, the matchmaking system is good in the sense it tells you the level range your opponent is.

no it doesn't. I'm level 25 right now, so if it tries to match me with someone "Within 20 levels", that could be someone at level 5, or someone at level 45. It's stupid.

I'm done with this game. Selling/trading it soon. What a piece of crap.

Razor Ramon HG 12-11-2010 01:52 AM

Then just cancel and let it match same level or within five?

I don't get why you're complaining about something you can avoid..

Anyone playing this on an EASHL team that I could join? I'm not that good but I would rather join an RS based club then a random one.
