Can't remember the site I read it on last night but I'll try and find it.

Pretty much:
New physics system
you dont just hit the players, you can miss and just catch a bit of their leg so its not just straight hits.
sticks aren't always on the ice
broken sticks
new faceoff mechanics
you can jump over players
shoot the puck while you're down on the ice

sweet time to get my hook up

i actually prefer EA's over 2k, 2k is only good for basketball. Their hockey feels clunky, as well as the turbo button doesnt really add on much speed.....

Agreed. EA is ment for Hockey and what not. 2k is ment for more basketball.

i skipped nhl10 so i'll get this one if it looks good.

Tegra_Devil 06-09-2010 07:14 PM

ill buy a EA NHL game every 5 years...the next one will be NHL15 for me :P

quasi 06-09-2010 07:28 PM

I've bought every single year going back to the original, NHL Hockey in 1991. Actually when that game came out I begged my mom for a Genesis just so I could play it.

I'll buy this one without fail.

MONEY!!! and the graphics were awesome for the time.

NHL94..

I enjoy Be A GM mode too much not to buy it ...

Now, if they can make online more entertaining by improving the defensive and goaltending AI, then that would really be something. As it stands now, all people ever try to do is cross-creasers and one-timers ... Not that I have a problem with winning (rocking a 0.7 GAA in online versus), but it gets so tedious spending half the game 5 feet from your net to take away the easy stuff and no one ever seems to think "maybe I should try passing the puck around to spread out the defense and open up some scoring opportunities." ... Nope, just try to force the puck through the crease or through the slot ... *yawn*

Mid-September

411ken 06-09-2010 09:23 PM

Aren't they adding the Vancouver giants, etc. to this game?

I think it would be cool if they add a legends option.... i.e what they did to the canadiens

hope they address the scoring issues in nhl 11. 09 and 10 pretty much force u to do wrap arounds or cross ice one timers in order to score. the odd time ull get a slapshot or a deke through the net.

SilverBlitz 06-10-2010 01:09 AM

i still like nhl 99 since it was my second nhl game first one i got was nhl 94 for the snes

hotjoint 06-10-2010 07:14 AM

The new changes look good but we'll see once we get our hands on the game.

Mugen EvOlutioN 06-10-2010 07:49 AM

There's always scoring glitches in EA's NHL games. I don't think that'll be any different in the next version.

hotjoint 06-10-2010 11:31 AM

The goalies were unreal in nhl10. They saved everything except those wrap around and 2 on 1's.

They're adding the OHL, WHL, and QMJHL. Those 3 leagues make up the CHL.
