I'm hoping for these. Pictured below are the Canadian ones.

Apparently they are/were available at Loblaws stores in Ontario. Damn easterners.... then again, we had the Vancouver Olympic aluminum cans. Speaking of which, I was at Price Smart in Coquitlam and I couldn't believe what I found. I didn't know they existed, but I found a Coke Zero pavilion bottle. 97 cents. They had all four versions, albeit 4 or 5 of each.

PM me, chun, as long as it doesn't end up costing me too much, I'm in. They are different enough from the Canadian version.

David Beckham has an amazing face. It can do things most faces only dream of. But like any finely calibrated machine — a racehorse, say, or the Battlestar Galactica — it can run into disastrous problems when little things start to go wrong. For instance, when it's watching its beloved England team limp to a 1-1 draw against the underdog Americans. Herewith, a timeline of the breakdown, with field notes.

It all started so promisingly for David Beckham's face. His hair was combed into a regulation fauxmpadour, his cheeks were precisely withdrawn, and his FA-issued three-piece suit with hacking pockets and special bicolor England breast-patch neatly set off his Brand Beckham three-days' stubble. He was light on his feet. He was ready for anything his job as unofficial team ambassador with no designated coaching duties could throw at him. Dude could have been a wax statue of himself.

Here DB is joking with Rio Ferdinand. They're relaxed, just two injury-stricken ex-England captains telling tales and blissing on the times. They're happy. Rio's wind pants are ruffling gently in the light South African breeze. For one of these men, it's all about to go horribly, horribly wrong.

Dempsey shoots. Green loses the ball. No joy in Mudville. Beckham’s eyebrow strikes an invisible gong.

Existential despair arrives. The hard, lined face of a man who's spent countless hours riding fences and driving herds of cattle contemplates the arrival of civilization and the end of the true West. Beckham's stubble — only his stubble — looks drunk.

Total breakdown. Beckham's hair is like a line of twisted, agonized hands reaching up to the heavens, pleading for divine aid. His tie knot looks defeated. Long winter nights ahead, nights of privation and anguish, wondering how he'll keep the wolf from the door, how a man lives in this world, what Brooklyn and Romeo will eat.

Yeah, thanks. I figured they had them but they are probably some outrageously marked up price like $20. Found a guy on CL that has 2 for $10.

You can download one from the BBC site, but it's only for Windows machines.

i want to go buy a greece jersey, wonder if sport chek has them.

way2quik 06-14-2010 12:51 AM

I hope they seriously ban those Vuvuzelas or whatever horns. I saw during the news that they plan to.

StylinRed 06-14-2010 01:25 AM

there's no way they're going to ban a south african instrument that all the south african fans are using @ the south african world cup the political shit storm will totally mar the games

Player Quotes against Vuvuzelas

Quote:

France captain Patrice Evra said the wall of noise was a factor in his side's poor display in their goalless draw with Uruguay.

All the latest stories, videos & pictures on the 2010 World Cup

"We can't sleep at night because of the vuvuzelas. People start playing them from 6am. We can't hear one another out on the pitch because of them," said the Manchester United star.

Portugal and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo admitted the volume made it difficult on the pitch to concentrate, while Argentina playmaker and World Player of the Year Lionel Messi was quoted as saying it made him feel like he was deaf.
:lol @ France

Quote:

Asked if a ban was an option, World Cup organising committee chief Danny Jordaan said: "If there are grounds to do so, yes", adding that he preferred singing.

But a spokesman for the committee later played down Mr Jordaan's remarks and said the horns were "here to stay".
