My cousin used his '90 Si for courier work. 500,000km and the head had never come off the car. Smoked a bit til the valve seals warmed up but drove great and still passed aircare. He was on his second clutch when he SOLD it. I changed the oil every month regardless of mileage and did a tune up every year. 4 rads, 2 starters, 3 alternators, 3 pairs of CV's, 2 coils, 4 timing belts about a dozen brake jobs, 2 alarms and 6 or 7 stereo systems.

He pretty much granny shifted it all day. Whenever I got my hands on it to work on, I would actually rev the thing and drive it moderately hard. He always said it drove better after I had it for a couple of hours. LOL

my old 84 tercel did over 300000km and start below -25 without plug in block heater (in prairie). i miss that little beater

if an 84 old beater can go over 300k km, i would expect rsx go over 500km before it need rebuild.

at the end of the day, it all depends on how they drive it, how often they maintain the car, and how good of oil people use in their cars...etc

02 Civic - 110,000 KM, didn't change my original OEM battery until it cracked the 100,000 Km. Only the regular minor changes, fluids, brake pads, etc along the way. Still runs awesome.

Next car will definitely be another Honda or even Acura.

As long as it meets the collectors vehicle criteria, including no rust, no body damage, no rips or stains in the interior etc.

And only certain aftermarket parts are allowed.

If it passes the above and it's >=25 years old, then I don't see why not.

Collectors plates aren't limited to vintage exotics or other expensive old cars. I saw an old Toyota Corona with collectors plates - except it had dented bumpers, faded paint and some rust. The owner must have gotten the collectors plates and used it as a beater
