Guy eats with just $1 a day for a whole month..

And documents it how he does it here:

http://www.grocerycouponguide.com/ar...ll-on-1-a-day/

Never underestimate the power of coupons!!

penner2k 06-13-2010 11:09 AM

The funny thing is not only was he eating on a $1 a day he was also giving food to the food bank on a $1 a day..

VK79 06-13-2010 11:11 AM

Watched tons of news in the US/Cad about how a "smart mom" went all over the place to collect coupons + used her iphone to get electronic ones etc etc. Bought $200+ worth of stuff (can feed someone for 10-20 days easily) for like $1 or 99cts etc.

Vansterdam 06-13-2010 11:17 AM

^ that was posted here awhile back

and you'll be suprised at the shit u can get to eat from the dollar store lol

Amuse 06-13-2010 11:28 AM

You will never get these good coupons in Canada or the cashier won't let you use multiples.

jpark 06-13-2010 11:35 AM

^this is true

JKam 06-13-2010 11:53 AM

too bad we don't have coupons like this in Canada.. I wish I didn't have to spend so much money of food :(

penner2k 06-13-2010 11:55 AM

One option would be to go across the border once a week to do grocery shopping. Gas would pretty much work out free since the cost of driving down there would be offset by the fact that you would pay like $10 less to fill up your tank. (depending where you live)

In addition to the money you save by filling up there too, it's worth the trip ;)

Thats what I meant.. you will save at leas $10 filling up down there vs here... Even if it works out that it costs you $10 in gas to drive there and back you are coming out ahead on cost of everything else..

Or mass buy lentils at any Tropicana. Lentils are dirt dirt cheap.

Greenstoner 06-13-2010 06:45 PM

wasnt there was a crazy woman video posted on here about saving tons of money on grocery ? damn...

Sgt_Koopa 06-13-2010 07:55 PM

Grocery Outlet in Washington state is pretty cheap. I go to Seattle to visit my sister every 3-4 weeks and on the way back, I always stop by Grocery Outlet.

:haha: true....

and with $1 more, you could get a full bag of chips that has 10x more chips.

You can eat ramen noodles 3 times a day and it will work out less than a dollar a day. But do you want to eat that shit everyday ? fuck no.
