been noticing these couple months that we hear about the sink hole issues in all around the world so is the world really coming to an end 2012 as Mayans predicted?

The mayans just ran out of space on their rock calendar, and thought that until then - it really wasn't necessary to make a new one.

It's like if in the year 2088, some guy decides to boot up Windows 7 again, and peeks into the calendar, only to find that Dec 31st, 2099 is the last day in the calendar, does it means that the world will end then? possibly not.

Buddy you will never get a serious discussion on RS on 2012. Accept it.

I was having such a discussion with a couple friends the other night, this was after my 12 case and once I had started on the tequila, and we came to the drunken conclusion that a decision/major alteration of the way we live will have to be done in 100 years and that the positive/negative outcome from that alteration will be seen in 500 years.

Atleast, I think that's what we came to the concensus of...

actually the Mayans did predict the spanish coming... the Mayans would have won (they were winning) if it wasn't for disease (that's what made em lose) that killed em

and the mayans calendar actually extends far past 2012... it was just that particular 1 found at a demolished temple that didnt really end at 2012 (because the rest of the calendar was broken..) all it describes is some catastrophe but im pretty sure it describes a lot of things that didn't happen too (or else 2012'rs would be saying "SEE!!! look @ the year 1950,60,70,7171727271928391239289319")


who really cares? Other than it making a few good movies and offering some more entertainment value (with threads like these or those quirky faux-documentaries) i wouldn't lose sleep over it (unless you just have to be one of those crazies like the nostradomusers)

even if the world is coming to an end in 2012, you alone are powerless to stop it. if it is coming to an end, scientists and shit will see it coming, and they'll be the ones to figure it out. we can't do shit except watch the world end, so why even worry about it?
