LOL I can relate to the first one with the former Ms Nevada. Reminded me of the time one of my friend from the US came to Vancouver to gogo dance at a few clubs. I was at the airport waiting to pick her up when I got called by CBSA, they ended up calling me into the holding area to interview me to try and confirm her story. Turns out they got suspicious when they opened her luggage and found gogo boots, 6" platform shoes and a variety of skimpy outfits, they thought she was an escort too Funny thing was the CBSA agent interviewing me was some 19-20 asian girl and she seemed nervous herself.
Some of my friends are in porn business and CBSA has also called me to verify their stories when weird things are found in their luggage, thinking about it, CBSA probably has a file on me with all the phone calls they make to me
I don't get how you can become a citizen of a Country and not speak the language. Generally speaking don't you have to live somewhere for 3+ years before becoming a citizen? How do you not learn at least a basic understanding in that time?
r u serious? Vancouver has thousands of citizens like that

I know there are lots of people like that I just cannot understand it for the life of me. I wouldn't move to another Country because I like this one but if I did I'd make it my mission to learn the language.

It's easy to say this when you have democracy, freedom, G20 standard of living and an education.
The whole reason people immigrate is to make a better life for themselves and their families.
The MAJORITY of immigrants are not balling out of control. They come here, work as maids, janitors, waiters and other jobs that we deem to be menial.
They do this to feed their kids and put them through school. Learning english takes a back seat to earning an income.
PS I love you mom.

7seven: I really can't stand all these idiots who hit the gym now just because they watched 300 and want to be like a spartan. Case in point, this skinny guy comes into the gym the other day, must have only weighed ~ 140lbs, loads on 2 plates on the bench rack, mutters to himself, for sparta, unracks the barbell and proceeds to drop it directly on his chest.

THe thing is, in many countries, its hard to get by without knowing the language, but in vancouver, half of the signs are in chinese, and almost 30% speak the language, so immigrants/newcomers never feel the need to learn langauge.
Personally i think they should send the newcomers to canada, to rural canada where they actually need people , and not Vancouver/toronto/montreal.
Too bad there's not a US version of this.
So much shit will probably go down, but I bet they will sue the producers for showing them without their consent or w/e
Or
A Canada version featuring the Peace Arch border, where teenagers cry when they get busted smuggling Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch.

stupid cbsa
actually a lot of people smuggle drugs from asia who's plane stops in japan before making its way to canada/usa or they have a middleman that smuggles the drugs from japan (so they dont have any trips coming from suspect states)
and its usually heroin that's smuggled (so its cheaper over there)
