Good car could be fast car to some a reliable but somewhat slow car to the other.
I suggest you get a econobox like civic and corolla in a base trim since you dont' seem to be a car enthusiast

Civic would be my top choice.
Reliable, cheap to maintain, tons of aftermarket support if that's your thing, and lots to choice from.

corolla or civic. Depends if you want to mod or not.
if modding is out of the question, get a corolla
if you are going to throw some mods on, get a civic

Go get a modified 240 or a modified civic.
Find a seller that knows his cars though and has kept it clean and up to date in maintenance though instead of a rice box. Posted via RS Mobile |

The fuck? Civics are not the end-all-be-all of the automotive world. To be frank, I doubt he's looking to mod his vehicle as he doesn't even know what type of car he wants.
Lets do it this way:
1) Do you care where the car comes from? Domestic? Japanese? European?
2) What are your needs? Commuter? Something fun? 4-Doors? 2-Doors? Luxury?
4) You have $8000 to spend, but does that budget for insurance, on the spot maintenance, etc?

A Geo metro, Pontiac Firefly and Suzuki Swifts are pretty good cars. If you get the Turbo versions, they're even better!
