whats the point of entering a ladder game and straight up say i will mass (insert blank). really? so you don't scout and adjust your strategy? ok maybe from the get go you know what you want to do but must you wait till you have all 4,5 or even 6 gates made before considering warping in your first guy?

4 gate = gateway at 4 workers or the cookie cutter toss build of 4 warpgates
6 pool = spawning pool at 6 workers

What's even needed to run SC2 on max settings?
I'm trying to find some components to build a cheap PC to run SC2 at max on 1680x1050. Will not be overclocking. Bang for buck, price, and running cool are top priorities. USB3 would be nice too. Here's what I'm looking at so far. Are there better chocies on mobo and gpu?

AMD Athlon II x4 620 (OC'd to 3.12Ghz)
4GB of ram
4870 (almost the same as a 5770 without DX11)
2048 x 1152 resolution.
Runs everything on ultra really really smooth. Haven't bothered checking the FPS cause it doesn't seem low enough for me to notice if it's bad.

can you still play comp stomp? i remember the good old days, where it would be 7 vs 1 cpu to add wins to our records but there would always be one guy who didn't click allied victory haha.

thanks | 6 pool is the "dreaded" ling rush... when you build 1 drone at the start and then you save the next 200 minerals and build your spawning pool which produces lings... You then rush these lings to your opponent and tried to either end the game there.
The 4 Warpgate Rush is a very common aggressive opening. 4 Warpgates can provide a constant stream of units that allows the player to put a lot of pressure on the opponent. It is semi all-in since even though the performing player can transition out of it, constant unit production out of 4 Warpgates allows little space for teching or expanding. Therefore, a substantial amount of damage has to be done when using this build; otherwise the opponent will likely have a large economic or technological advantage. The build also relies on the use of a proxy Pylon to quickly and continually reinforce the initial push.

BNET matches you against higher ranked teams so they can test your skill and if you win enough will eventually move you up a league.
