dark0821 08-22-2010 03:11 PM

wait..how big is ur hard drive though..i cant imagine a blue-ray iso being small =.=

well PSP story all over again xD

FerrariEnzo 08-22-2010 03:12 PM

not going to take long for Sony to release a upgrade to combat this...

sure took someone long enought to come up with this...

skyxx 08-22-2010 03:25 PM

^ Only to be destroyed by the next update.

Manic! 08-22-2010 03:59 PM

I wonder if the dongle is just a USB flash drive and if you could copy whats on it to another flash drive?

asian_XL 08-22-2010 04:05 PM

$170?

for sure someone is going to rip it and post it on piratebay the next day.

Lomac 08-22-2010 04:23 PM

Meh, I still want the ability to have the option to choose my OS on the PS3 as an actual Sony-supported choice, not have to hack the system in order to do it...

syee 08-22-2010 04:28 PM

..

hkRicer 08-22-2010 04:44 PM

ppl sell it on craigslist alrdy? lol http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...912860079.html

invader 08-22-2010 05:57 PM

I now will go and buy a PS3.
Been banned from XBL for over a year now, i wouldn't mind playing online for free.

StylinRed 08-22-2010 07:34 PM

meh you still need to rent/borrow a game

and your harddrive is only so big

what they need to do is figure out how to rip games and post em up for download
if there are any files greater than 4gbs you wont be able to use an external either unless modded the ps3 hard drive bay with a sata cable to extend outside of the ps3

too much of a hassle it sounds for something that sony will circumvent by the next update or two

EDawg 08-22-2010 07:42 PM

I know this hack is new and all, but selling it for more than half the price of a new console is pretty ridiculous

SkinnyPupp 08-22-2010 08:13 PM

LOL @ using the term "Jailbreak"

LOL @ the fact that they demonstrate this "hack" using a debug unit which plays copied games already

LOL @ anyone who falls for this

...The exploit is that it makes the PS3 run games just like it’s a debug console. but i think sony will do something about firmware update

SkinnyPupp 08-22-2010 08:36 PM

OK so they copied the debug CD to a flash drive.

Still:

LOL @ Jailbreak
LOL @ the idiot who pays $150 USD for this

yeah but im sure they sold a good number of those usb dongles before the update goes out. i think it said it was like $180

strykn 08-23-2010 12:31 AM

to be destroyed by the next firmware update and if you go on PSN, your console will get ban hammered :P

hotjoint 08-23-2010 08:16 AM

I'll just wait it out

SkinnyPupp 08-23-2010 08:20 AM

Or how about pay for the games you want to play? What a novel concept!

Mugen EvOlutioN 08-23-2010 08:54 AM

meh not that great

ae101 08-23-2010 10:08 AM

what about that guy that hack the 1st iphone, didn't he hacked a ps3 as well?

FerrariEnzo 08-23-2010 10:14 AM

im still gold with my modded xbox for now..

I usually get bored with games pretty quick so it doesnt justify me to buy a PS3 for this dongle.. its gona cost me over $400... i think i will hold for a bit..
