There is a trick to avoid paying the cash advance fee. Lets say you want to put in $100, you just have to make sure there is a credit of $100 on your account. So basically just pay in advance to avoid the fees.

I've done it before and it works. You just have to make sure your payment went through because it takes a couple days for the CC company to acknowledge the payment.

Yeah, some cards have certain fees associated with certain things.

I know that my BMO card has that.

Talking to a CSR for MBNA right now since the site is declining MBNA.

Thanks for the info - I didn't want to take the risk without knowing, so I transferred money in from my bank account (did it on Friday, but money didn't appear in my Playnow account until today). Now I'm also $97.50 richer!

Has anyone thought of getting a credit card, where they treat it as a 'purchase'.

You take that card, and deposit say...$5000 into your BCLC account.

That $5000 then counts as a 'purchase' (not cash advance), and you will get to earn your cash back/points with the purchase

Then from your BCLC a/c, withdraw that $5000 back to your bank account, and then use your bank account to pay off the $5000?

Awesome! Did the Baccarat method, and then tried my luck at Blackjack. Stopped after winning an extra $100, and withdrew $310!

I will never visit that site EVER again! Too tempting!

Just a heads up, I used my bank account to withdraw the winnings from my dad's account that I made and it worked like a charm. Guess they don't check bank account names (if it's even possible).

Yeah it was so tempting to continue playing... your money is just a simple counter at the top! At least in an actual casino, you have physical stacks of chips that decrease in height if you're losing. I'm a chicken when it comes to gambling...

I was setting my dad up with an account yesterday and called at 515pm and was on hold for 1 hr 45 mins because their system could not verify his identity. Had to scan and email DL and a utility bill (showing address). They had issues receiving attachments so that took another 20 mins or so. Finally got the account activated and his CC was expired last month LOL

I am determined ha

I thought of this too. It seems like it could work in theory. I used a TD Rewards VISA (1% cash back) and I may call and find out if a cash advance charge will be added and if the $100 deposit counts for the 1% cash back.

EDIT: Just called TD VISA and confirmed that my $100 transaction was NOT cash advance (no fee) AND counts towards my 1% cash back. Wow!

PPL, please don't refer to this strategy, this strategy blows big time. Most tables here in the lower mainland have $500 bet limit anyway, but let's just say you take this strategy to the high limit tables and it's $10k limit.

you come out of a club, ahh, let's play some BJ, i want to make $200 to cover my night out at the clubs. I'll play $25 a hand. Lose one hand, down $25, ok, i'll use the double your bet strategy. Lose two hands, lose 3 hands, run into a hot deck, you lost 5 bets in a row. Guess what? now with your strategy, on hand number 5, you are betting $775 a hand. You lose 6 hands in a row and you've made a mountain outta that hole and now your betting $1575 a hand just in the hopes you will make that $25 that was to get you started. You may say, what are the odds of losing 6 hands in a row? that will never happen. Talk to anybody that plays BJ regularly, you'll probably go throw losing 6 hands in a row every other session.

Hand 8 you're betting $6375 and hand 9 you're betting $12,775, hope you have deep pockets.

Best strategy for BJ is, set an amount you want to win and set an amount you are willing to lose. Once you reach either one of them, leave. Actually the best advice would be to never touch this horrible game.
