i always thought merle was going to play a huge roll in something one way or the other and got pretty excited when the lightbulb turned on for him talking to michone in the car. was hoping it would be a bigger deal tho. killing a couple nametag-less henchmen and getting killed immediately was a let down. was neat seeing zombie merle tho! poor daryl.

Makes you wonder why they have her wearing gross brown coveralls this season :seriously:

good episode. I was getting worried that darryl would stumble upon the govs crew when he got there, and they would kill off both dixon brothers

Darryl is too much of a fan favourite for the writers to kill off, which was stated in an interview I read last year. That said, you never know what's gonna happen. He's one of the only reasons why I still watch the show. The majority of the rest of the crew annoys the shit out of me, especially Rick in his current state. Even though he's pretty much a one-dimensional villain, I almost hope they don't end up killing the Governor. He's a more interesting character to have on screen than most of the current "good guy" survivors.

Unlike last season, at least a "slow" episode like this actually drives the plot forward.

I was hoping Merle would stick around for another season at least I thought he was taking on the role of Abraham from the comics so I thought he would last until after the prison

Wish they let him take out more people too... for being the Governors main henchman and all around bad ass I was expecting him to at least injure the governor and take out the governors new main henchman Caesar

i think merle already explained that he cannot go back. it didn't really matter what he did, he would not have been fully accepted by the others, especially glenn/maggie. what he did, he did for his brother's sake. but yeah, it would have meant more if he had managed to kill caesar rather than those nameless henchmen. either way, i'm happy that merle decided to do something noble with his life. sacrificing his life for the good of his brother but also the group as a whole.

season finale is gonna be friggin good :D

Yeah, if they kill off either Darryl or Michonne, I'll have a harder time watching the show. They're my favourite characters by far.

Also, if he did shoot that close, at least shoot the important people. It's sensible to realize you will never make it out alive...

For once I wish logic would play into battle tactics, it would really be a treat for the fans.

That's what was awesome but the first 2 episodes of season 3. They had zombie killing tactics and made it apparent to the viewers what they were.
