Not much I could have done. It's not a murder or kidnap so LAPD wouldn't go looking for him. Now that he is frauding others it could mean he's setting out to fraud a lot of Americans before leaving the country so they might think again and I have a better idea of where he is staying.

His cousin used to live a few houses down from me and I'd stop by to hang out because he would always be wrenching on his turbo honda in there. Anthony brought his car down to get turbo'd and I hung out with him then. We have kept in touch throughout the years on Myspace and Facebook.

I just don't understand why you'd call him, he'd answer, then you give the phone to his cousin? That doesn't make any sense at all to me... unless I'm missing something here, you really should have manned up and told this guy what you're plans are if you don't get your $$$.

Because they were close, the scammer's dad is my friend's god father. My friend has helped the scammer out a lot over the years finishing projects he got himself into that he couldn't complete. I don't know if it did any good but he said he knows we are good people and that's why he wan't to finish the deal and make it right.

I've told him repeatedly what's going to happen and he appears to be concerned and does not want it to go that far but he obviously does not care or is planning to flee to another country or something I don't know.

Yep. he just sent me the "real" pictures and VIN again. I told him that was the same VIN of the charcoal auction car and he said oh sh1t he sent the wrong one again.

He asked me to call the police back and tell them everything was going to be ok. lmao

Anthony is luring you into his trap, he is sending you pictures, and you are accepting his lies and STILL putting confidence in him. In the end he could just "ship" you out the car and than blame you for losing the car. seems like you are way too much of a pushover for someone that just got scam out of 40k.

Good luck in court, doesn't look like you will win any case you have against him. Even if any charges stick you have already gave him enough time to move around his fund.
