or if they don't want to pack a parachute everyday, they can just build a huge zip line

lol wtf i just finished watching. tried to click and share on fb and it's removed.

StylinRed 09-15-2010 03:25 PM

The guy removed it due to a fear that it "reflects badly on the tower industry"

Quote:

I sent out an email this weekend advertising a new video about tower climbing. It was a great video and I wish I could show it to you but the person I got it from expressed some concerns about how it reflected on the tower industry and ask me to take it down. So I did. But not to worry, we have agreed to work on more videos in the near future and I am sure they will be as good or better than the one I had to take down.

Sorry if you feel mislead or cheated but it was the only thing I could do.

I will let you all know when we have more videos on tower climbing, hopefully in the very near future. Thanks for tuning in. Russ

found it on Liveleak though

snowball 09-15-2010 03:44 PM

It would definitely reflect bad on the industry because the guy made it sound like the industry prioritizes productivity over workplace safety. Hence "attaching and removing safety lines every few feet slow progress"

BlacknJean 09-15-2010 04:07 PM

i wonder how much these guys get paid

optiblue 09-15-2010 04:10 PM

OMG... wouldn't it be easier to have hellicopter? I don't think I could do that job :(

flagella 09-15-2010 04:28 PM

"Last year, ISP Planet explored how much WISPs pay for such technicians (and their insurance). Climbers often charge $1,500 or more a day plus additional insurance fees; one climber notes that he bills out at $295.00 per hour. "

how often do they actually work though? doesn't seem like enough for me :/

gilly 09-15-2010 04:34 PM

even at 300 bucks an hour, its not worth it.
