Why should i keep right?

Hey, im not saying that i stay on the left lane
but
if a person on the left lane is going 90km/h at a 90km/h speed limit area, why does he still need to keep right?

Qmx323 09-20-2010 04:31 PM

because there is always someone that needs to go faster than the limit

samkyupsal 09-20-2010 04:36 PM

but it will prevent other people from breaking the law.
is there any good reason for the person to move over?

Euro7r 09-20-2010 04:37 PM

Your just asking to get tail-gated by staying on the left lane and driving speed limit.

Left lane is the passing lane. If your not passing, stay on the right.

shenmecar 09-20-2010 04:38 PM

Keep right unless to pass.

Hondaracer 09-20-2010 04:51 PM

Because it is for PASSING

Go back to driving school.

+1, but with the new laws, I'm already in the right lane nowadays.

Because by doing so, you're breaking the law yourself. ;)

donjalapeno 09-20-2010 05:00 PM

i hate when some people go 40 in a 50 on the left lane

this one time i went german style on a chick that was literally going 35 in a 50 and flashed my highbeams and she didnt do anything, because it was a c-lai lol

johny 09-20-2010 05:02 PM

because the law says stay right.

Ikkaku 09-20-2010 05:06 PM

it's a pre-emptive action to reduce potential road rage ;)

FerrariEnzo 09-20-2010 05:16 PM

doesnt the passing only effects on Hwy driving? for city, there really is no passing lane...

so if you get pulled over for speeding in the city, what are you gona say to the cop,

cop - you know why your stopped
driver - i was in the passing lane!

im not saying that this shouldnt be applied for city drivin, but more of a question.

umpadupa 09-20-2010 05:16 PM

i just flash my hid's till they move over...
thinking about installing a train horn... now thats gonna be a different story

snowball 09-20-2010 05:25 PM

It's not breaking the law if there are two lanes your direction and you're doing the speed limit in the left lane.

But it's breaking "the code" you're just an ass for doing it.

jepho 09-20-2010 05:33 PM

ya but no one in this city follows the "unwritten rule" to keep right unless to pass. in the states is another story, ever notice driving down to say bellis fair or seattle no one is in the left lane. They seem to have proper driving edicate when it comes to that anyways.

you are not a cop. you're a fucking minimum wage hero. you're also creating a situation on the road for no reason. you are the douche here, not the guy trying to pass in the PASSING lane.

jasonturbo 09-20-2010 05:57 PM

Cause the left lane is for VTEC!!!!!

iambuRnz 09-20-2010 05:58 PM

It is not an unwritten rule...havn't you seen the signs? There are much more signs in the US but they still have them here.
KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS
SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT
OP is an idiot.
Driving in the US is way better. They move out of the way almost immediately before you get to them.
This doesn't really apply to city driving, only highway.

LiquidTurbo 09-20-2010 06:01 PM

OP troll.

i know its for passing but if the person on the left is going at 90km/h technically hes using the lane to constantly pass everyone on the right lane because thats the fastest legal speed one can go. and no one else should pass that car because it would be illeagal to do so(going over 90). yes i know its illegal to stay left in the first place.

But the only thing you're going to do is for the person that wants to pass change to the right lane and pass you anyways. You will be passed but you might piss off the wrong person....

samkyupsal 09-20-2010 06:07 PM

why do u guys think i stay on the left when i stated in the first post that i dont.
its a question i made for discussion. might seem dumb but thats why im asking it so i can reason it out with your responses.

dude.. just stop... if the guy wants to speed, move over and let him. if he gets pulled over by a cop for speeding, drive slowly and just point and laugh.. theres no point getting all worked up over this..

i usualy drive speed limit.. if im on the left lane, and see someong ripping down, i move over... i dont see any harm... do you really want an accident coz your being a dick?
