Worst pain for me would be when I was running a cutting torch (big tip at 70psi) and the tip got caught in a hole in my freehand glove and I couldn't get it out until I finally shook the whole glove off. Ever seen a toasted human bone?

Worst pain I think I might encounter that I'm scared shitless of? Passing kidney stones. I've heard from women that have given birth and they say it's (passing stones) WAAAAAY worse.

I torn my ACL during a basketball game... the sound of the snap is still in my head

SumAznGuy 09-22-2010 09:02 PM

Come on murd0c. You use to be cool man.

Ever been hit with the puck in the nuts so hard that your testicle exploded?

Never happened to me either, but I saw some guy take a slapshot to the hand and his pinky blew up. Litterally the tip of the pinky was gone. Couldn't find any pieces for the doctors to reattach.

Supposedly, a team mate's friend was a goalie and took one in the sack and one of the marbles blew up.

took an elbow to the eye playing soccer, that knocked me out for a good 30 seconds or so.

One of my buddys played hardball and a guy on his team got a ground ball smoked and hit him in the nuts and both of them twisted and had to be removed due to no blood flow getting through so yes I agree that would hurt like a bitch but other things hurt just the same.

Wow just reading some of these stories makes me shudder! Looks like closing my own car door on my thumb is nothing in comparison...

It's weird how women say giving birth is the most painful experience ever - and then there are those with 4+ kids...

When I had my wisdom teeth taken out, all four at once, two came out quick, the last two took a long ass time...

I wasn't sedated but got shots to the side of my mouth for numbness(also hurt)... then the shots kinda wore off... then the pain... worst pain of my life...

Shattering my left elbow so badly it needed pins for 4 months..

SumAznGuy 09-22-2010 09:20 PM

Haha... there are 2 things about physical pain. First is how badly it hurts, and second is how long the pain last.

I've closed a door on my finger before. The inital shock hurt, but it was short. After the inital pain, it became a long throbbing pain till I had the blood released.

My worst pain was a really bad cavity that required a root canal. The pain was so bad, it gave he a really bad headache. The pain lasted a long time because the pain was constant until I had the root canal.

I was baking some desserts at my friend's house. As soon i got the cupcakes out of the oven at 375 Degrees F. the dog came into the kitchen quietly, hit the oven door and burn my arm. I still have scars on both side of my right arm, about 3-4 inch long.

Edited my post. Sorry, I meant women that had kids and also passed kidney stones, saying the stones were a lot more painful.

Drow 09-22-2010 09:23 PM

reading this thread is pretty painful mentally :twirleye:

t8v6 09-22-2010 09:26 PM

wow some of you have had it so much worse than I have lol...
but the worse I've been through is when my spine was inflamed and had to go to the hospital. Stuck a huge frickin needle in my back at 2 in the morning while i was half asleep to get some spine fluid samples...

BeeBeeAhn 09-22-2010 09:27 PM

Well there are epidurals for pain during birth now. not all women can have them though.

The first time they give birth, it stretches to the point it tears the skin between the bum and birth hole. Sometimes doctors will cut it and then sew it back together afterwards.

But once they have one kid, the second time is easier and by the third time or more, they baby just pops right out.

cocking a bb gun with a bbq stick and then having the bbq stick snap and recoil into my thumb, it took two tries to pull the bbq stick out of my thumb. It went about an inch into my thumb.

Terrorist tactics include removing finger nails with a pair of plyers.
Getting a needle/sliver under the finger nail.

I don't think physical pains could ever match up to emotional pains.

One time I came across my father's journal and in one entry, it was about the things he did for me that day and his thoughts on it. I really did take him for granted.

StylinRed 09-22-2010 10:07 PM

uhmm kind of a three way tie

i broke my wrist ages ago and got a cast.. when i went in to get another xray to see how things were growing back, it looked like my wrist wasn't set correctly (slightly) so the doctor cut my cast off and basically forced my forearm and hand together (like wresting with a tight socket) i blacked out for a few seconds

another would be when i skewered my hand with a potato peeler trying to dig out a root from the potato i was peeling.. it went right through the potato and into my palm and almost through

and lastly would be horrible constipation horrible horrible constipation... that might be the worse... even more than a crippling back muscle spasm (which lost out to the top 3)

RacingMetro92 09-22-2010 10:08 PM

Dislocating my shoulder for the 4th time in 5 weeks playing rugby (I tried to make a form tackle on one of the bigger guys) and it stayed out for about an hour. Sat there and watched my team lose the fraser valleys waiting for an ambulance to come, only for that to get delayed (Were at Yale in abbotsford, hospital is 30 mins away). Then as the ambulance was backing in to take me to the hospital, i popped my own shoulder back in standing up to get to the stretcher. FUUUUUU
