I agree.

My cousin's death was the most painful thing I ever felt. he was like a brother to me. i don't think you ever stop grieving after losing a loved one. you just suppress it and some days you just can't.

Played half a season and playoffs in a tier with a decent amount of ex major junior players with a torn acl. Not the smartest thing I've done and granted its probably doesnt sound as bad as it is or stack up to many other things but it really ends up taking a toll.

nabs 09-22-2010 10:19 PM

tooth pain, nothing compares, totally disabled me for 2 weeks! couldn't even think, i popped an advil every hour.

CP.AR 09-22-2010 10:22 PM

had an electric water boiler (the Asian variety which you find in every asian home, which goes up to 270 degrees C) pour it's entire contents onto my 4 year old left thigh.

Still got a scar about the size of my palm

Or it could be getting 7 stitches on my forehead in grade 4 after some idiot girls decided to jump off the opposing side of a see-saw I was on, causing me to flip and crack my head on the hard metal BOLTS that were sticking out of the wood frame....oh yeah, the stitches were without painkillers goddamn I cried. and then proceeded to get a Thomas train set after the horrifying experience

i've had a lot of injuries in the past, been skateboarding for 10 years now and i've only smashed the back of my head on concrete once. i used to be careless when i was younger, always thought of myself as a tough person, always took the pain, didn't report injuries, and left injuries untreated to heal itself unless it was "severe".

i've damaged my ACL in the gymnastics facility at my school. i was sitting on a workout machine and i wasn't paying attention as my friend kicked the sliding seat i was on and i lost balance and my ankle scraped the corner of a metal bar(which was veeery sharp) and cut my tendon. again. can't really remember how long it hurt for, but it was for a long time though.

another injury was when i was in woodwork and my friends we're playing with the air hoses that hang from the ceiling. they pulled it back and let it go, it swung right into the back of my head and left me bleeding. i still have the scar on back of my head. i had to get that one treated, since blood was streaming down my neck and back. couldn't hide that LOL.

another injury i had resulted in scars on all 4 of my knuckles. i was skateboarding at a very high speed down a hill and while i was pushing, my foot got too close to my wheel and accidently kicked the skateboard. my board went sideways, and i eventually lost balance. everyones first instance is to support yourself with your hands.. well, i was riding with a discman in my hand and in order to protect it, i had to use the back of my hand. basically, my knuckle acted as a brake for me.

lastly, i think the most painful of all my injuries was when i twisted my ankle. i was snowboarding pretty fast and i didn't know what happened, but i wiped out at a high speed and i twisted my ankle. since it was so sudden, it didn't hurt as much as getting my foot out of the boot:( i left that untreated. soon after healing, everytime i walked, my ankle would click. but it's been a while since the injury now, and the clicking has gone.

lesson: report any injury, even if they're small. treat them, even if they're small.

sorry if post is too long lol, be safe everyone!
i also had boiling water on my hand when i was 4. my skin bubbled!

spyker 09-22-2010 10:38 PM

1.passing a kidney stone(thank god I was drunk when this happened)
2.getting bit by a friends pitbull
3.pulling a back muscle at the gym(this was 6 months worth of pain)
4.toothaches.

No.

For guys, Kidney Stones. There is no pain that i have suffered, even getting hit square in the balls by a soccer ball that comes even remotely close to Kidney Stones. It's unbearable.

According to a lady in the emergency when I was there getting morphine for the pain, it was actually worse than giving birth for her.

Edit: I had to survive for three weeks with am 8mm stone stuck in the little pipe thingy that comes out of my kidneys. Unfun.

Harvey Specter 09-22-2010 11:02 PM

I would say a tooth infection because of my wisdom tooth.

The worst for me was smashing my face into a curb when I was 10. I was on my bike in the rain and braked and the brake came unscrewed and got stuck between the spokes. I went over the handlebars face first and collided with the curb directly on my mouth/nose. 386 stitches inside my mouth, shattered my nose completely (it was really gross, you could move it around anywhere) but they couldn't fix it, so now I have trouble breathing properly at night, along with a high grade concussion and blood loss that left me passing out in the bathroom at the hospital. Still get black outs to this day. Was also out of school for a month and a half while everything healed. Roof of my mouth looks like patchwork now.

Getting my lower lip ripped open by my grandmother's dog just after I went back to school from the previous accident, still have the scar.

Getting pushed headfirst into a piece of bare steel when I was 4 by my step-sister. Sliced right through my eye-brow, still have the scar.

Putting my arm through a glass table when I was 5. Scar from that too.

Abscessed tooth last November. 2nd most painful thing I've ever experienced.

Falling into a sharp metal ledge in pre-school, scar again.

Some weird back problems I was having about 6 years ago, crippling back pain, wasn't able to stand up straight let alone walk properly. Sucked really bad. Missed a week of work because of it.

ShyGuy 09-22-2010 11:05 PM

Broke my Femur while snowmobiling in the backcountry of Big White. The initial breakage didn't hurt (I didn't even know it was broken until I tried to get up. I realized it was broken when I tried to get up and noticed the bone poking up into the skin).
The most painful part was while the rescue crew was towing me out along the trail using their own snowmobiles. My leg was unsecured and I was laying on a plastic tarp. The whole time no one could hear my screams. I felt every little bump from the snow tracks shifting my leg around. The 20 minute ride felt like hours.

oh shit, hate to get an oral injury. injuries you can't see are the most painful imo.

Graeme S 09-22-2010 11:41 PM

I'm split.

Wisdom tooth/dry socket. Holy fuck. I couldn't sleep for almost two weeks 'cause of the pain from them. Motherfucker ow. T3s were almost as bad, eating my stomach away.

On the other hand, I had gallstones. JESUS MOTHERFUCKING CHRIST those things hurt. And can kill you. went in to Emerg at 3PM, surgery at 1AM, out again at 11AM with a fuckton of T3 and a chunk of suppositories.

Pain sucks.

Oh, and I slammed my front two teeth up back into my gums when I was a kid by trying to jump up a 3' wall with my hands in my pockets when I was 4. Oops.

Bouncing Bettys 09-23-2010 12:06 AM

Q-tip inside the peehole at the health clinic

or this past summer tearing a muscle in my back wakeboarding. i could barely move for a month without causing debilitating spasms with even the slightest movement which meant i didn't get much sleep. its also not the best thing to happen when making taking a corner while driving. i still feel it once in a while

alex.w *// 09-23-2010 12:20 AM

FerrariEnzo 09-23-2010 12:38 AM

Jegz 09-23-2010 12:57 AM

Wow you guys are brutal compared to mine. But heres a couple that comes to mind..
Bitch slammeeddd the door while my hand was at the doorsill. My entire indexfinger nail came off. It was a nice mix of red and yellow.
Also, when this dumb kid maced me in the face. I was blind, couldnt breathe and my entire head was in pain. Showered later that night, then my whole body was in pain too hehe.. Best night ever.

You win.

Biking?

Rogue951 09-23-2010 07:07 AM

You're lucky it was the back. (lucky being better of the worse alternative)
It was on that 1,000 ways to die show, some drunk guy did a belly slide off a home made slip and slide (plywood and tarp). Didn't see the nail sticking out, gutted himself and left all his innards on deck when he slid for the pool.

Fractured arm

RRxtar 09-23-2010 08:41 AM

5 years ago at work. trimming a cedar hedge with a hedge trimmer. about 5 feet up a ladder. ladder some how lost its footing and i started to fall. as i was falling i let go of the trigger on the trimmer to grab onto the cedar. as i was falling, the trimmer swung around and tore into my hand. basically cut my thumb off, and chewed it up, and tore into 3 places in my index finger and hand about an inch deep. 5 hours of emergency surgery, +200 stitches and a couple screws to put it back together.

that part didnt hurt

the part that hurt was the next 2 weeks. it felt like i had my hand in a fire 24/7. worst burning pain ive ever felt. percs and morphine didnt even touch it.

and i had terrible ear infections when i was a kid. that hurts IN YOUR BRAIN! im surprized no one has mentioned that

InvisibleSoul 09-23-2010 08:50 AM

Kidney stones... twice.

Both times it was during final exam time during university, so unless it was a major coincidence, I'm thinking stress is a definite factor for me developing kidney stones.

Haven't had it again since in like seven years though.

donjalapeno 09-23-2010 08:55 AM

sist in my eyelid, had it removed. Most painful surgery ever, i looked like i got knocked out for a while i was getting weird looks everywhere i went.

Psb1 09-23-2010 08:56 AM
