okay for those of you that don't want to go through the whole thread here it is in point forum

-OP's parents is LOADED
-parents can buy him 100k car
- he doesn't want to be too spoiled so he only wants one 30-65k
-he has a sister (no pic) with a 335i
-going to UBC in the new yr
-want's his 1st yr UBC to be easy
- OP doesn't get money from his parents but magically they pay for gas and food
- he claims he's not spoiled

Dude you putting yourself in a hole.

you pay for what exactly? I paid for my own schooling, my car, rent, food, everything that I own I paid from my own pocket since I was 18.

and what you still don't get is when you pay for your own car it feels FUCKING AWESOME!

AzNightmare 09-27-2010 04:50 PM

You're spoiled.

obselete 09-27-2010 04:52 PM

I think you should fall off a cliff.

tofu1413 09-27-2010 04:52 PM

^ coles notes eh.

just get your damned mainstream white 335xi or C350 then RS would be a happier place by not posting in this thread, and the world would continue spinning again.

anzboi, the reality is, his parents will buy him a car, even if it feels awesome getting your own, why would he regect?

most if not all families with money will buy their kids a nice car, so all this hating is just jealousy... because this is nothing new!

Amuse 09-27-2010 05:04 PM

Choose a car that is $30000 or less and save your parents some money.

optiblue 09-27-2010 05:06 PM

Get the Evo X. Seems like you'll enjoy that one the most :)

sekin67835 09-27-2010 05:37 PM

Thanks for the suggestions. Please close thread, this is getting out of hand. No point in discussing what my family does with money.

GabAlmighty 09-27-2010 05:39 PM

Can't really blame how the OP expresses himself when OP's parents would LITERALLY disown him for going to BCIT and say NO to any car that is below $40,000.

I like how you think though, all the credits goes to you making it to university without your parents spanking you. I wonder who would get the credits if you didn't get into a university, your parents, or your parents?

Don't own neither of the car that you've listed, but you can get the Audi from the states a bit less expensive and still keep your warranty.

hahah

jealous? I don't think so my parents were more then willing to buy me a GLI, that's quite a bit better then the Accord I have now. But the fact that I said no, is still looked upon by my parents. At that point they already knew that I was ready for life, I do not need to rely on them.

Help your parents by helping yourself, they raised you why not give a little back?

Hi,

why i like the audi:

Gets chicks,

.

i suggest not getting a car that gets chicks.
as Too $hort says:
"She ain't trippin on you she'd rather fuck your car"

on a serious note, here's some advice. get a freaking civic or similar. engineering is not an easy ride. it takes commitment, hard work and a lot of - if not all of your time. if i'm 18 and have a $50k car, i seriously doubt i'm able to commit my full attention and time towards my studies, too much of a distraction. make life easier for yourself. finish school, and then get the fancy car.

my 2 cents

Theres a reason this thread turned out like it did. You made it happen. You shouldn't have wored the first post the way you did, it made it say "Hey look, I'm spoiled as fuck, don't want to rape my parents wallet too bad."

You could have said, "my family is looking to purchase a car, our budget is about 40-50k. They want a new car, 4 dr, reliable yet sporty. I will sometimes be driving the car, so suggest things a new student would enjoy driving as well"

But instead you included things like "Get's chicks", "My sister already has a 335i", and "Don't want to be too spoiled"

Thats why you fail

sorry but i ran out of thanks for the both of u

just one question here.......

WHY!! aren't there pics of said sister yet!!??????

tegz 09-27-2010 08:27 PM

Ok kid... the way you seem to think and talk about your parents money just pisses me off I feel like I have to say something here...

I've heard you call $30,000 as "chump change" and any car under $40,000 as garbage (you say that and YET your fam still drives two hondas, you're fucking garbage then? lol). Just the way you talk in a condescending manner about those amounts of cash makes everyone in here realize that money can't buy class bro. Don't get me wrong, neither me or my family is poor but you've got to understand the value of money. 30K and 40K are not small amounts of money, and you say that you are not "that" spoiled. Just calling those lump sums of cash as garbage and chump change make me think otherwise... That you are a hypocritical spoiled brat here to brag about how much of his parents' money he has to spend.

In a few years maybe when you start making your own money and live on your own, you'll begin to realize how fucking stupid you sound right now... My advice? Get a civic and grow the fuck up.

I really think you can stop using yourself as an example because, in all reality, you are one in a million who would do that....I have worked hard for my car, but if my parents offered to buy me a $65K car when i was 18, I wouldn't even hesitate to give the obvious response.

I do agree though that the OP's parents seem rather ignorant, which, in turn, probably makes the OP seem pretty ignorant as well.

LOL... not surprised that posting on rs would provide such feedback.

In all seriousness, thanks for the advice. Learn something new everyday right?

Sorry i didn't answer your question from before, didn't notice it and i drive my van to school from time to time. I also bus sometimes. We aren't getting anything less than 40k because my parents said so. So they told me to choose a car, which im still deciding. And when i say they are getting me a car, i should say it's half mine. They have legal entitlement of the car, and basically when i get a job, i will have to maintain it myself.

Please get insurance for yourself and ask them to put your name as the car owner.

When you crash, you can kiss their insurance discounts GOOD BYE.

If your family is loaded with cash, don't cheap out on insurance even if you are asian.

maybe you should follow your own advice and invest a majority of that money into your education and just buy a sub-25k car for you and your family.

have you considered a g37 sedan? i also like the SH-AWD TL

both cars are powerful and luxurious, yet relatively affordable to upkeep when compared with its german rivals ie 335 and s4
