best car for 30-65k? Hi, i'm planning to get a new car soon. some of my choices are the evo, or s4. My sister has a 335xi already, so i don't want the same car as she does. In terms of Affordability and just pure awesomeness what cars would you recommend? Why i like the evo: All wheel drive Easy to Tune, I like the history of the car, (haven't test driven one yet, but if i am, most likely getting a MR because my sister will drive it too.) What i don't like about it: issues with rattling and "bad interior" why i like the audi: Gets chicks, as fast as the above choice and 335, AWD, good warranty for the first 4 years.( i believe it's the same as BMW) What i don't like about it: Will rape my parent's wallet, (don't want to be too spoiled. plus i probably wont be able to afford much mods until later on) In the future i will track the car, and tune it after the warranty is done, or almost useless. Would like to keep it cheaper than the S5. Mostly worried about the price of the car and maintenance. Car will be bought for sure, but I just want to make sure i get the right car because i will be using it for a while. Thanks in advance. |

30-65k? That's a hugeee range man... get a SH-AWD TL It's a Honda, so it dosen't die It's a Honda, so after warranty the car won't cost an arm, leg, foot, and perhaps a penis to keep up. NO FANCY LED SHIT It's a luxury vehicle, but not up to the "prestige" of a beemer or a BMW to make you seem spoiled by friends 3.7L V6 hauls ass when the VTAK kicks in, yo Very "techy" car Some V6 accord mods will fit, if not slight modification to the modification should fit. (yo dawg, I heard you like mods so I put a mod in your mod so you can mod while you mod) Or you can buy a fleet of Nissan Versas (~12k each), and then play car soccer with them. |
Fine, i'll play along. Get the new s60 |
my family has two hondas and one bmw. hondas kick ass, but i believe i should move on. (had a 2000 accord before we sold it to get a van.) i would get evo hands down, but my father believes its a "racing car" which is true.. so i need some alternatives |
will your parents only buy you a brand new car? can you buy used? and you might as well take the 30K off the bottom end, cause there's obviously no way you're gonna buy honda accord.. |
i don't think i can buy a used unless it has no accidents. Also, it can not look like a race car to an asian parent. It's ironic they would buy my sister a 335, Arguably the same speed as a evo, and not let me buy it. And it's also because we have a old outlander which chugs gas like no tomorrow hence discouraging him with the evo. (IE he thinks mitsubishi sucks) |
if you are willing to buy used cars or wait untill next year then a GTR will be around 65k. ive seeing 75k gtr already. not to far |
one problem with getting a coupe is that my family is HUGE. no kidding. So i would prefer a sedan. But since we have 3 cars already.. I might be able to get a coupe :) |
because the s5 is a sedan too...ya? |
Shit I meant s4 Posted via RS Mobile |
g37 z4 m3 but sounds like ur parents wont trust the infiniti brand that much? z4 and m3 might look tooooo sportty for ur parents also? how about a lower class audi... a4?a3? |
oh and lexus IS. the new one on the commercial i just saw. i guess there being sold now? 2011s?? |
M3 and z4 are overpriced. I do like the z4 though. The new Lexus is sex on wheels but I believe it's only rwd. Bad for Vancouver :(. At least I don't go to sfu. Posted via RS Mobile g37 would be good but my friend who has a g35 says it does 17-20l/100km. he can only go 300km before he has to fill up |
If you have a big family then you should buy a awd van. |
17L-20L?? holy shit.. he must drive really bad? i have the g35 and i get 14L/100km. and i live on Westwood plateau so i go up a fucking mountain at least once a day. 3.5L and 3.7L makes 3-6litre difference? (not sure) my 335i also averages 14L/100km. u and my family sound alike. i wanted the a lancer but they didnt approve of mitsu. already had a 335i cab. and they wanted AWD and something that can be bought out and used later. g35x seemed to be the perfect choice. but sometimes i do feel that g35x lacks fun driving factor. but always good luxury feel. |
as i said before we have a van. although its not in the best shape it works and still functions like it's new. the reason i'm getting a new car is because i got into university. its a family encouragement and reward. also, my father is rarely in vancouver so the most seats i need is 5. (i have 4 siblings including myself). so maybe a coupe with two back seats is appropriate too i think the haha he goes to sfu and he lives on the west side. on the bimmer i get 13.5l/100km until my sister drives it up to 14.5. isnt the g35 a rwd?? the reason i dont like the 335 id because it feels like a machine. probably the same feeling when youre in a bnr35. i like a more fun car, yet safe so when i track it i wont die doing stupid shit. |
This Jaguar which uses the same platform as the Aston but should be cheaper to maintain. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_L8BTRutV0u...s400/car+1.jpg 1999 $27,000 USD http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national 2006 $37k http://vehicles.wheels.ca/white-2006...-malibumotors/ edit - if you have up to 65k to blow, gas shouldnt be your concern |
Get a used M5. I'm sure you can find one with no accidents, it fits all of your criteria. also, the S5 and S4 are very, very different.. I'm not sure how many chicks you'll pick up in an S4.. |
love the jaguar for its platform, but hating this x series because it looks like a miata lol (personally preference. does resemble an aston martin in a way) gas isnt much a problem if i can go around 350-500km. i dont like using too much of my parents money before i can sustain sustain it myself if i suddenly want an more independent life. Ps was kidding about the getting chick part. That doesn't concern me. |

A Lexus IS-F :troll: |
m5 maint cost probably high... g35 is sedan model of 08. there is X version. which is what i have but now, sedan or coupe, both g37 and they come with X versions. iirc but i feel that g37 lacks in looks. if ur going to be driving with people in the backseat alot, i suggest a sedan. really grinds my gears when people seat in the back seat of the 335. dunno if coupe is same as cabrio. but the seats always gets adjusted, the shoe marks they make when they exit/enter. i think AWD is overrated for most parts of vancouver. i used to drive a 325i up and down the plateau on all seasons no problem(had to turn off DSC though :) ). i bought winters for the 335 last year but it snowed once? so i didnt get to test it out. hopefully this year i will be able to. right tires will do. |
