This is why the current generation is, for the most part, so pathetic.
The parents only care about there standing in the community/wealth. Neglect the kids during childhood and then to compensate they just through money at them. Then when the news reporters asks them why their kid did what they did they say:"I don't know but its definitely not our fault".
The days of the self made man are numbered, I just hope the next generation remembers that money cant buy you grateful/level-headed kids.

To the OP; The reason for all the hate is that if you can't figure out how to spend your parents 65k on a car that they are happy with then maybe you don't deserve to spend 65k on a car. Let them make the decision, they've been making all of yours for 18 years...why stop now.

I've heard you call $30,000 as "chump change" and any car under $40,000 as garbage (you say that and YET your fam still drives two hondas, you're fucking garbage then? lol). Just the way you talk in a condescending manner about those amounts of cash makes everyone in here realize that money can't buy class bro. Don't get me wrong, neither me or my family is poor but you've got to understand the value of money. 30K and 40K are not small amounts of money, and you say that you are not "that" spoiled. Just calling those lump sums of cash as garbage and chump change make me think otherwise... That you are a hypocritical spoiled brat here to brag about how much of his parents' money he has to spend.

In a few years maybe when you start making your own money and live on your own, you'll begin to realize how fucking stupid you sound right now... My advice? Get a civic and grow the fuck up.

well said dude, but at least he TRIED to sound mature, you can totally tell he is trying his best. To make it sound like he actually knows his shit, that he pretends to understand the concept and all that bullshit jazz

good try tho, but still a fail

The key to pulling off stuff like LV is to make it subtle. Covering urself in monogram just makes u look like a fool.

wendal 09-28-2010 03:04 PM

Get a hold of one of these. Im sure you will be able to pick up more than a couple of chicks ;)

+1 for bangbus

OP, just get a beamer like the other spoiled kids in vancouver. I still cant believe you don't think your spoiled when your parents are willing to buy you a 100k car. My car was bought for 3g using my own money. Sure she isnt the fastest, or best looking but I've grown ridiculously attached and shes my car. When it breaks, I have to take the bus to pick up parts so I can fix it. Occasionally I can get a ride but I hate to bother people with my problems. I've done repairs in rain, snow and even in the middle of the light using lamps. Fixing your own car is the best feeling in the world. And here you are having trouble choosing a car. /rant

My advice to you is to use the money for a down payment on a place then rent it out. You can use your tenants rent to pay off the mortgage. You can use any extra money you have and buy an older car and drive it around. Who cares if it's old. One day you're going to be late for class and you'll drive the shit out of it anyways.

PS: BCIT FTW!!

what makes you think your logic is going to even have the slightest 0.000000000000000000000000001% impact towards this kid's decision.

The chance of him listening to that advice? is ZERO, the chance of me winning the next MAX is higher than that

so why bother

donjalapeno 09-28-2010 08:34 PM

Speaking about shitty repair times.

Put a rear axel shaft into my 240 at 12am in the rain... And the old stubborn fucker wouldn't come out at first, the bfh had to come out.

busdriverman 09-28-2010 09:27 PM

yeah this thread is completely out of hand

i do agree with what most have said in this thread. i too have been paying for my food, gas, phone bills, clothes, books and a large chunk of my tuition since i was 16. i work 3 part time jobs while going to school just so i can appreciate some fine things in life such as my recently purchased CBR 600RR. however, the way that the OP has talked about certain things such as the amount of money his parents will give him towards a new car as well as what he considers chump change is very condescending to me. i feel that it is not entirely the OP's fault because that is the way his parents have raised him.

OP, if you are reading this post, which I doubt but if you are, please take a moment and think about how fortunate and well off your family really is. take what you want from all of the rants of our fellow RS members, but the point to take from this entire thread is that you should not take what you have for granted, and really 30K is a LOT of money. try working 80 hours a week during the olympics just so you can save up for a place for yourself one day my friend, and you may realize how hard working for your survival as well as your future can be.

back to the original topic, albeit that i previously posted my suggestion for a G37 sedan, you should consider waiting for the 9th civics or current genesis coupes. they are affordable, safe and are good for building up your driving skills. scratching a brand new bmw or benz would hurt your ego and wallet a lot more than these entry level vehicles.

shawn79 09-28-2010 09:40 PM

ask anthony espinosa for a lexus IS-F he will hook u up

:troll:

BMW135i 09-28-2010 10:25 PM

Op, just flash out the 30-65k cash. Chicks will come to you. You don't need a car just to attract their attention.

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-29-2010 07:14 AM

throw it on the ground and leave a trail, they will follow you home

geeknerd 09-30-2010 06:24 AM

So many people bashing on the OP.
But understand that he is 18, and although many of you have matured at that age and became independent, I think its safe to say that the majority of upper-middle class children will take longer to mature and learn to appreciate the privilege they have.
For the asian Upper-middle class, its kinda the norm for the parents to pay for expenses while going to school. And thats why the OP probably said i dont get money, only food and gas and tuition.
In OP's perspective food, gas, tution is expected becuase he lives in an environment where that is an expected duty of the parents.
But what revscene is saying is that, the fact that its an expectation makes you spoiled but you just dont know it because your spoiled.

OP is spoiled. its a fact.

I can relate to OP because im a spoiled upper middle class also. At 18 I took it for granted too, i still continue to be spoiled but i know that i am and im appreciate what my parents are doing for me.

But also know that being spoiled is not all about money. A kid who got a 5k car from their parents can be just as spoiled as one that gets a 100k car.

twitchyzero 09-30-2010 07:32 AM

sure as hell doesn't sound upper-middle class if "30k is chump change" :lol

q0192837465 09-30-2010 11:53 AM

I gotta admit tho. I got a 50k car when I entered university. Then got another 50k car when I graduated. I didnt get any girls with my car, so OP's logic is flawed.
