So far I withdrew my application for shuttle and applied for conventional so I'll see what happens from there.

TypeRNammer 09-18-2015 03:39 PM

Time to go through this roller coaster again, I have been short listed for the position and invited to their video testing.

Razor Ramon HG 09-20-2015 06:56 PM

Single use tickets available now.

Bought one at Patterson and forgot to tap in.. :lol

Are they like FareSavers that I can use for next trip then?

Alby 09-20-2015 08:32 PM

i don't think so. i think when you buy it, the info is recorded into the ticket.

Razor Ramon HG 09-20-2015 11:03 PM

Ok.

The Translink website doesn't really say. But I looked up the fares with a compass pass and it seems to be cheaper than it currently is.

http://www.translink.ca/en/Fares-and...-Products.aspx

The price for a one zone transit is $2.75 -> $2.10 for example.

Didn't know that.

I believe that's about the same price when buying the older booklet of 10 tickets

SoNaRWaVe 09-20-2015 11:46 PM

razor

don't throw away that ticket

reuse that ticket and see what happens. from what i have heard and what i've read on the machines, the ticket is not validated until you tap.

if that is true, the 90 min don't start until your first tap.

EDITED: Sorry, didn't know it was posted in Shitty/Dangerous Drivers Thread already

Alby 10-01-2015 09:35 PM

^ more like sent back to drivers orientation/training as a disciplinary action for a second chance

Gunsmokez 10-02-2015 04:06 AM

^^ And suspension

Mr.HappySilp 10-02-2015 07:14 AM

Anyone here that works for transit knows how the compass or the ticket works? Going away at the end of Oct for a week so not using the monthly pass. I still have some of those old fare savers but they don't see them anymore so where can I get some faresavers and where do I get a compass? If I load my compass now and start using it do I have to tab in and out everytime now>?

Alby 10-02-2015 06:59 PM

i don't think you can buy faresavers anymore. as for compass cards, the new machines that are not add fare machines already have the cards loaded to dispense. i heard they will enable this option next week. and yes, always tap in and out now.

radioman 10-02-2015 07:24 PM

Was thinking about this today. People are using the cards and tapping in and out but the gates arent working. What's stopping me from getting a card and just not tapping.

If transit police ask me for proof of payment I show the compass card. Do they have the ability to see when it was last scanned?

SoNaRWaVe 10-02-2015 09:40 PM

^ yes. they have the ability to see if it has been validated (tapped). if you or i will ever see them checking, thats a different story.

Canada Line is still looking for station attendants

TypeRNammer 10-06-2015 11:40 AM

Coast Mountain Bus Company is currently looking for conventional bus operators.

It was just posted up as of today, there's no expiry date. It's on a open until filled basis only.

I was actually hired on for this but ended up turning it down (ended up getting a job in my field).
It's damn good pay for what you do, though!

I was actually called in for interview for this position also.

Had to decline it since I passed my interview at CMBC:joy:

Congrats!!:nyan:

Enjoy the grueling weeks of training! (if you're going to be an operator)
The worst part by far is sitting in a classroom for a couple of weeks for trolley training or air brakes. At the very least, now I can point out poor movie logic in regards to tractor trailers :fuckyea:

TypeRNammer 10-06-2015 02:24 PM

Basically they're the front line station attendants who are in charge of making sure the compass pass program rolls out smoothly.

Then there are the regular station attendants that paid about 30 ish dollars an hour.
