Great idea. I did that for my niece and nephews. got the jerseys from the Canucks store and got Dogs ear to put there last name on the back.

Hmmmm......and since half of the Canucks team are/used to be clients of mine, I can get the jersey autographed too! Henrick Sedin gave me his cell# about 3 years ago....I can't find it now, dammit.

meaningful gift for a 1 year old? ... if you haven't noticed.. little babies just need boobies to suck on and dipers to shit/piss in. Seriously ....the kid is only 1, you still have many many years to get him/her something meaningful.
"It's called Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good ... They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time. "
Not LEGO, the kid will die. But DUPLO, well shit that stuff is awesome. My cousins kids still play with the stuff that my brother and I had as kids every time they come over. That's a toy that will never get sold or what have you (to further my point, my brother and I still have a bunch of the LEGO my dad had as a kid!)
As far as the 'nucks jersey goes, I agree that a baby sized one would be awesome, and get either a stuffed bear that it will fit (to give with it now or for next years gift) or get it framed, maybe with one of those little hockey sticks as well. If you get it signed ether before/after, that would be seriously awesome, either way that's a gift that would be kept forever.
I can't remember where I saw it either, twas the Canucks store or maybe the NHL one? With free customization for a little while.

if you get him something like that your friend would just frame it and keep it for himself
a Toy works wonders they'll enjoy it till they're like 10 maybe and it'll have sentimental value for years more
my friends daughter still has the toy i gave her when she was 1 she knows the toy but has no clue who i am
