Better get them siped so they'll grab on ice. Nothing more embarassing than having a 4x4 stuck on ice and the cars driving circles around him.

You'd be surprised... To be honest, if you don't get 'em siped, I'm not sure they'll be much better than my "all seasons."

I'm still contemplating whether I should raise my car up or not for this winter. That said, I should probably think about buying winter tires pretty soon as well... :lol

I've got a nice heavy subwoofer box in my trunk for extra traction already.

awd + snow tires = haven't got stuck yet.

these tires are great in the snow, The Kevlar mtrs get awesome grip and good grip on the ice with 15psi. I have a couple buddys with them and they work awesome in the snow.

And I also have a rear locker which helps a bit as well.

spoon.ek9 10-10-2010 09:21 PM

buying snow tires last season was the best thing i ever did! even though we basically had only a single day of snow last year, i'll never use all-seasons again during winter.

nack 10-10-2010 09:22 PM

Anyone know of any deals in the States? Dollar is close to par and I'm sure tires would be cheaper down there.

What size do you need?
I just ordered a set of 4 Nitto winters 205/55/16 for about $475 shipped to WA. I hope this goes through, cause the website wouldn't let me enter a Canadian billing address, so I had to make up a US one. They also sent me a blank confirmation email.

Hopefully my all season tires do fine. Never driven my car in the snow before, this'll be the first year. Will probably end up taking transit most of the time.

Also I hope transit is prepared for this, I remember in 2008 I'd be waiting for busses for like 1- 2 hours. It was just terrible :(.

twitchyzero 10-10-2010 11:44 PM

i'm so glad i dont go to school on burnaby mountain

slammer111 10-11-2010 12:10 AM

The problem is when there's too much snow, many cars lift off the ground. At that point the world's best snow tires don't do you a lick of good. *sigh*

Anyone know if it's illegal to park your car overnight on a big street for days on end, if there are no signs saying otherwise? Might have to do that this year.

Euro7r 10-11-2010 12:12 AM

We'll see what goes down this winter. 2008 was deadly though.
