I really hope its not like the snow we had in late 90's, I remember when i was a kid the snow would be waist high for me.

RevYouUp 10-11-2010 01:06 AM

I've been careful as fuck on them since the rain started, gut feeling says that they might lose grip if they hit a deep puddle. They came with my Passat when I bought it (has aftermarket wheels), but I want something different if I opt for rota slips.

@ stewie. DO IT! I'd be so down for something like that.

falken ziex? i actually made it thru our 2008 winter with these tires. they were new at the time and had enough grip to go uphill on burrard and granville st :lol

donjalapeno 10-11-2010 09:44 AM

Anyone know if it's illegal to park your car overnight on a big street for days on end, if there are no signs saying otherwise? Might have to do that this year.

just don't be surprised when you come back to find your car sideswiped to shit. If you're expecting to get stuck maybe you shouldnt drive in the first place?

dude basically if a tire cant handle the rain, expect to handle 10 times worse in the snow.

912 and 512 both are myserable in the snow.

I had 912 two winter ago, used it for less than 2 months and the hell with it, sold it and got Conti winter tires and never look back.

ASX is horrible in the rain, and hydroplanes easily once u are above 85-90km on the freeway. UNless u have a tercel, any 200 hp+++ car will slip with that set

BrRsn 10-11-2010 11:49 AM

ha-hahaha-ha.

4LO + tirechains + big bad V8 = what winter?

People thought I was crazy when I bought tirechains 2 years ago because they were only $100 for 2 sets, NOW WHOSE LAUGHING.
