The one that didn't stop is a total idiot. Too bad nobody hit him when he was wrong way on Kingsway. he got lucky.

aznsuperman 10-14-2010 10:01 PM

i actually saw the aftermath but didn't any pic, cuz i thought it's just any other normal crash.

XTC_604_DKNY 10-14-2010 10:02 PM

wow that's crazy. did they end up releasing names?

tegz 10-14-2010 10:50 PM

i thought he'd go to the airport insteada going on kingsway eastbound

d1 10-14-2010 10:59 PM

what a fool, you can't outrun air 1.

-EuroRSN- 10-14-2010 11:15 PM

The whole time I was like JUST GO METRO UNDERGROUND!

Rich Sandor 10-14-2010 11:26 PM

yeah metrotown underground, ditch the bike then into the crowd.. woulda been a good way to escape... for a little while.. eventually the cameras would be reviewed and they'd track him down somehow.

I hope he spends some time in jail. He could have hurt or killed someone. Not cool.

Raid3n 10-14-2010 11:40 PM

i think he blew past me on highway 1 westbound, when i was coming back from coquitlam. what time did this happen? i remember a dark coloured bike ripping it up the HOV lane, lane splitting and zigzagging across the highway..

Qmx323 10-14-2010 11:56 PM

duck into metro underground parking, buy a change of clothing

twitchyzero 10-15-2010 12:11 AM

reminds me of some crazy biker flying down 41st ave at over 120kph..it's like they are looking for a quick way to die.

eurochevy 10-15-2010 12:46 AM

notice to all riders = plz if your gonna run..keep it on the highway and then stop somewhere you can hide instead of going through residential....you will eventually crash doing that in a residential ..its a guarantee after that long of a run ... take it from another rider..get the ticket and save urself the humility of being a dumbass in the first place

friend of mine did that last year, during the construction

fucking idiot could have died. even worse, he didnt' have a license and just bought that fucking R6.

haha people have a weird way of feeling invulnerable.

orange7 10-15-2010 01:46 AM

I think the only reason why the first bike stopped to the police was because he was carrying a chick.

the chick was probably scared and told him that she wouldn't fuck him anymore unless he stoped

Midnitez 10-15-2010 03:03 AM

Lol yeah ultimate getaway checkpoint is metro underground hahaha so many lvls and so many exits rofl

Warp9Racing 10-15-2010 05:41 AM

i like the part in the global news where the guy says "he slowed down for this corner which makes me think he's not that competent of a rider"...lol....looks like the guy was wearing jeans and hoodie?

btw-180km/h down lougheed is fast...but not that fast....:P

Gh0stRider 10-15-2010 07:14 AM

Heh, I went to high school with that guy (the Air1 guy, not the rider).

Dangerphoto 10-15-2010 08:04 AM

Guess the excessive speeding of over 40km/h was not enough for them...so they decided to blow it away? Very dumb and dangerous...glad civilians were hurt.

underscore 10-15-2010 08:27 AM

It's one thing to do this on the highway, but down the bike lane in a school zone at 120? Yikes, that guys a dick. He must've been watching too many videos of those Russian guys.

jasonturbo 10-15-2010 10:01 AM

First thing, if that was me, my sorry ass would have been heading right for metro town parking lot so I could take a nice long walk, or out of the city... air1 actually has a very limited gas supply, and the top speed of the bike could very well be higher than the chopper.

Secondly, I WOULD NEVER EVER F&^#%& DO SOMETHING THIS STUPID LOL.

I'm sorry but when someone does something like this, IMO its only fair to pull their license for like 5 years +... complete disregard for the safety of thousands of people.

taylor192 10-15-2010 10:41 AM

To all the "metrotown" replies:

MTA 84 outlines the duty of the owner and MTA 83 outlines the owner will be held liable for specific offense if the driver is not identified and the corresponding fines and imprisonment. So all the cops need to do is get your plate #.

Quote:

Duty to give information

84 (1) If a peace officer has reason to believe that a motor vehicle has been involved in an accident or in a contravention of this Act, the Commercial Transport Act or the Transportation Act, the regulations under any of these Acts, the bylaws of a municipality or the laws of a treaty first nation, and so informs the owner or a person in the motor vehicle, it is the duty of the owner or person, as the case may be, if required by the peace officer, to give all information it is in his or her power to give relating to the identification of the driver of the motor vehicle at the relevant time or during the relevant period.

(2) If the owner or other person fails to comply with subsection (1), or gives information that he or she knows to be false or does not believe to be true, he or she commits an offence against this Act.

While it may have a higher top speed, 1) it's restricted to roadways, 2) that helicopter has a very large viewing range. I'm sure the RCMP have plans to cover the possibility of the chopper running low on fuel.

+1 you cannot outrun from the bird's eye especially in broad daylight.
