Did you get ones that are actually made in Japan?

They're great in Sukiyaki. Plus, it's uber good for you. It's basically Konyaku. Shit's supposed to be good for guys......... as in guy parts. LOL.

Konyaku is what is in PGX, the weight loss pills. It has practically zero calories, but has some interesting effects. Like many Asian foods, the west are starting to discover the medicinal benefits of food ingredients from Asia.

It's the texture that freaks people out. I used to eat the stuff all the time, but haven't had it in a long time. I think I'll make some shabu shabu with it - the konyaku, not the shirataki.

Now, if only we can convince the Canadian government to approve the sale of hijiki (so it has some arsenic in it, LOL).

I think it was made in USA and in Japan, I bought 2 types, and avoided the made in china ones

And yeah the texture turned me off of them :/ I got them because I wanted to cut carbs, but I looove noodles, looks like I'm stuck lol

Have you given the soy/tofu shirataki noodles a try? Theyre not totally carb free, but super low. Its a less bouncy, jelly texture.
