Dodgeballs Anyone know where I can buy Dodgeballs (the foam filling kind) aside from the dodgeball leagues? Like.. any shops? |
i'd like to knwo too |
Speaking of dodgeball, where do you guys play it? I went to the dodgeball drop in at Pinetree community centre in Coquitlam last Sunday with my friends and basically no one else showed up so we ended up joining the indoor soccer lol. My hands are itching cuz I haven't played dodgeball for such a long time. |
^there's a league in coquitlam where you can join. |

Coquitlam Dodgeball League Probably not a single shop locally you can find the balls, you'll have to order online. I'll find out where my league, VDL, gets our balls from for ya. |

start of with wrenches. because if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. or so i hear................ |
Aren't dodgeballs just those foam practice volleyballs? |
In regards to the video ^ balls fly at 50 miles per hour ? I don't think so... |

The gym they're playing in during the actual "action shots" is David Thompson .. memories playing dodgeball in that same exact gym, secretly aiming for peoples faces .. knocking glasses off was +10 points. |

Oh hey! I know Kawa... well aquaintence... I have him on my Facebook. lol |
some of the throws are pretty deadly ... I've been to the friendly side matches during the playoffs :lol |
I played in the VDL before it became established as VDL and I personally know the creator. It's nice to see something that was just out of interest to grow so big. I was also one of the people who helped run the dodgeball club at sfu, and we used rubber balls which do hurt. Speeds can definitely clock at 50mph and some people get injured in the face, but I believe VDL uses foam balls. Those can still hurt too. |

VDL does use foam balls, as with all other leagues in the lower mainland, but that doesn't mean a head or crotch shot won't hurt still. For those that want to get a good idea of what the league is like and the amount of players we actually have, coming to the playoffs is the best way to take it all in. All playoffs are from 1-430pm~ish. Tuesday Playoffs: Saturday, Nov 27th @ Vancouver Technical Secondary Wednesday Playoffs: Sunday, Nov 28th @ David Thompson Secondary (main gym, Argyle side) Monday Playoffs: Saturday, Dec 4th @ Vancouver Technical Secondary Thursday Playoffs: Sunday, Dec 5th @ David Thompson Secondary (main gym, Argyle side) Come out and watch, and definitely stay for the final. You'll be surprised at how intense of a sport dodgeball really is. Plus the great spirit & sportsmanship. :) |

I am not a fan of using the foam balls for dodgeball. This is the type of ball we use. Rubber latex training volleyballs. Awesome grip and freakin pack a punch when you get hit by one. Foam balls are for girls. http://www.sportsequipmentsupplies.c...085_medium.jpg http://www.sportsequipmentsupplies.c...ball-28925.htm |
Dodgeball Drop-In: THIS Saturday NOV 6th 2pm to 5pm $5 (cost to cover gym rental) @ David Thompson Secondary VDL Rules apply. PM above person ^ if you want to go. Edit: If that's too much text.. |
^ those video's can be summed up in one video: Other dodgeball related training |
