Speaking of dodgeball, where do you guys play it? I went to the dodgeball drop in at Pinetree community centre in Coquitlam last Sunday with my friends and basically no one else showed up so we ended up joining the indoor soccer lol. My hands are itching cuz I haven't played dodgeball for such a long time.
"It's called Sex Panther by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries... Yep, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good ... They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time. "
Probably not a single shop locally you can find the balls, you'll have to order online. I'll find out where my league, VDL, gets our balls from for ya.

Are there any casual drop ins though? Instead of serious league stuff.
There was a drop in last Saturday 2-5pm @ David Thompson Secondary (map). I believe it will be a weekly thing from now on, will update this post when I find out.

The gym they're playing in during the actual "action shots" is David Thompson .. memories playing dodgeball in that same exact gym, secretly aiming for peoples faces .. knocking glasses off was +10 points.
In regards to the video ^ balls fly at 50 miles per hour ?
I don't think so...
Michael "Handsome" Constanza - Went on to be the MVP of the league. Had amazing throwing skills and clocked in with the most accuracy. Had an 82 MPH throwing speed.

I'd say that's on the higher end of throwing speeds for the league. A couple years ago, we used to use a radar gun to measure the fastest thrower. Obviously it wasn't a perfect setup or test, but I was clocking 54ish regularly, and the top male speed was 64! Female was 46 I think.
VDL is on it's 7th week currently, but we are gearing up for registration for Season 11 soon.
some of the throws are pretty deadly ... I've been to the friendly side matches during the playoffs

I played in the VDL before it became established as VDL and I personally know the creator. It's nice to see something that was just out of interest to grow so big. I was also one of the people who helped run the dodgeball club at sfu, and we used rubber balls which do hurt. Speeds can definitely clock at 50mph and some people get injured in the face, but I believe VDL uses foam balls. Those can still hurt too.

How did you like the playoffs?

So you know the famous Bunz eh! I tried to get the dodgeball club @ SFU started again a couple years ago but there just wasn't enough interest.
VDL does use foam balls, as with all other leagues in the lower mainland, but that doesn't mean a head or crotch shot won't hurt still.
For those that want to get a good idea of what the league is like and the amount of players we actually have, coming to the playoffs is the best way to take it all in.
Come out and watch, and definitely stay for the final.
You'll be surprised at how intense of a sport dodgeball really is. Plus the great spirit & sportsmanship.

I am not a fan of using the foam balls for dodgeball. This is the type of ball we use. Rubber latex training volleyballs. Awesome grip and freakin pack a punch when you get hit by one. Foam balls are for girls.
