whoa, some decent deals. I'd say, price match at Memory Express for an extra 5% off.

Thanks!

ddr 11-12-2010 09:04 PM

should also consider and compare to the vistek sale that's going on

skyxx 11-12-2010 09:27 PM

The 60D is a really good deal with the 18-200 only $1269

1exotic 11-12-2010 11:19 PM

Yeah those are some good prices, especially for local.

60D body for $1029.99... that's pretty much the same they cost in the US ($999.99).

ilvtofu 11-13-2010 08:29 AM

^that canon 18-200 IS sells over $600 on craigslist damn I'm tempted to get it haha

I just ordered a Slik Sprint Mini, haven't got it yet though. That's a great price for the Slik Sprint Pro II, that's basically the price they sell for on Amazon & BH.

ilvtofu 11-13-2010 11:26 AM

Update!

Got the 60D from memory express for 1205 before taxes
Have yet to try it out, looking for an SD card lying around...

I saw their cost on the computer when the guy was flipping through and it's $1310 lol

1exotic 11-13-2010 02:46 PM

the body only ^ ? or with with 18-200 lens?

what exactly is this memory express?

might jump on this deal.

Or just get the body from the US ($1000 flat price) with free shipping + free 16GB SD Sandisk memory card. Wouldn't want the 18-200 lens anyways, seems like a beginner lens.

gars 11-13-2010 03:15 PM

the 18-200 is definitely not a beginner lens. It's an all-around lens, great for taking on trips and stuff if you don't want to carry more than one lens. But if you're a stickler for sharp photos, then I wouldn't suggest it - but it definitely beats carry a few lenses with you. even then, you could buy it at Mem Express and sell it on craigslist and make a profit if you'd like.

ilvtofu 11-13-2010 03:27 PM

Yeah I got it with the lens. That lens is worth quite a bit of money. I figured if u bought 3 packages and sold the lens and 2 of the bodies you could be looking at a free 60D

Memory express has really good service too. I had a really good first time shopping experience. Treated me better than BC or lens & shutter ever did.

Haha I'm thinking of refunding though and get my native friend to get it price matched and tax free at park royal :D

They didn't have any tripods comparable to the broadway one though. The 60d is pretty fun haha I think I'll be getting rid of the 7D

Dangerphoto 11-14-2010 02:59 PM

Damn the Canon speedlight II is so tempting to buy...plus 5% discount from Memory Express...Should I get it guys? I don't have much of a indoor lens other than a 50mm 1.8 and the kit 17-55mm lens...

ilvtofu 11-14-2010 03:38 PM

^should be good for portrait photography with that 17-55. Buy a cheap lightsphere and enjoy, I love the set up for photos at dinner etc. It's definitely a good deal

Dangerphoto 11-14-2010 03:41 PM

^ Hope they still have the deal, calculated that it came up to $450 ......

JackAss 11-14-2010 05:30 PM

just did the price match at memory express for the G12 and 8gb SD card... total comes to $540 after tax... woohoo

i just checked the hours. 12-5. i drove by at 11:45! jebus.

ilvtofu 11-15-2010 08:34 AM

I've read that the slik sprint pro II has a carrying limit of 2kg, should I still jump on it?
I'm thinking of getting a 70-200 lens and I'm worried it'll be too heavy with my 60D :/

77civic1200 11-15-2010 04:21 PM

I have the slik sprint pro original lying around from my p&s days. There is no chance of it being sturdy enough for a 70-200 and 60D. I took it with me as a light carry on for my trip to england, and it could BARELY hold up my 5D and 17-40. legs were ok ish, but the ball head scared me.
