why the face palms and rolleyes? is what I'm saying controversial?

have you seen what used GTRs are going for in the States?

It may be a fast car - but Nissan dealers suck, their service depts are nowhere near as good as competing brands and the reliability record of GTRs is poor

At least they changed the rims, which actually look pretty good now. I hated the look of the stock rims before these.

^ Yeah they should've made it available with a true 6-speed manual transmission.

yeah manual is a bit slower depending on the driver, but at least you get to drive your own car..... not the car drive you.

Then you can just go buy a Miata or something.
perhaps corvette or mustang if you wanna more power.

I know it's automatic, but 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds is pretty amazing.

No... Miata's are boring, and corvette and mustang are ugly and boring as fuck also.

I've been in a 10' gt-r and it hit full launch, and yeah fast and crazy cars.....

But just becuase it has a fast acceleration with an automatic doesn't mean it shouldn't be available in manual 6-speed.

Type Rawr doesnt depreciate lol
1992 NSX Type R goes for around $80,000 USD in Japan
2002+ NSX Type R are over $180,000 USD in Japan,
the last one on the market in UK was a 2004 model and it was listed for $200,000

Actually, those Type R may well be on their way to appreciate instead of depreciate. Also, brand new NSX went for $89,000 USD and right now some 02-05 models still go for around $60-75,000.

To put it in contrast, 05 and early model Gallardos can be had at around $90-100,000 now in the states

true, but because automatic nowadays are so much more efficient, I think a lot of people would hesitate buying manual.

if you get manual, you will get...

worse gas mileage
slower accelration/topspeed

it's just inefficient...back in the day, people wouldn't hesitate getting a manual because it was faster and you didn't have to sacrifice the gas mileage too.

this kinda goes with anything...a true Porsche 911 fans would rather have air cooled engine, but because water cooled engines are better, Porsche no longer sells air cooled 911.

a lot of train fans would rather stick to steam locomotive, but because electric powered bullet trains(TGV/Shinkansen) or maglevs are so much more efficient, I don't think they make steam locomotives anymore.

some people like analog stop watch than digital stop watch...

a lot of avaiation enthusiasts still love the radial engines than turbine (or jet) powered aircrafts, etc...

it will take time for people to adapt the change, but yeah, I don't think manual would be very efficient anymore.

What you're saying is kinda like Corsair or Zero Fighter are better/funner aircraft than F-35 or Su-37 because those airplanes are all electronically controlled rather than controlled by human airplane.

^your argument applies only to the track where getting somewhere quickly is the only concern. We have speed limits and stop lights. An automatic wont get you home any quicker.

You buy a sports car to enjoy it. A computer cant be programmed to control the the rpms, shift points and traction according to the mood of a driver. The satisfaction of knowing your cars behaviour is a direct result of your inputs is something flappy paddles cant do.

Manual... It's just simply more fun and exhilarating when you want it to be.

Although I agree with the above on being stuck in traffic haha
