There is still far too much sand, pebbles, and shxt on the road though, esp on the smaller streets. We really need some good rain and city sweeping to clean it all up.

Well the police are not there 24/7 to check tires.. you can try to go up.. just remember it is your responsibility if things go wrong.

heads up: there is a huge pothole northbound before you get on the pattullo bridge. it's big and deep enough that cars are starting to line the side of the road because it's blowing out tires/breaking wheels

my coworker was the one to tell us about it about an hour ago. they just mentioned about it on the radio now. he was in the other lane and the car next him hit it and to him it sounded like a gunshot when the tire blew out

i have to go over the oak st. bridge later this afternoon... can't wait to see what winter aftermath is waiting for me

for surrey? nothing:

https://surrey.ca/city-government/7055.aspx

Quote:
POTHOLES & ROAD HAZARDS

I have damaged my vehicle in a pothole. What should I do first?

Do not continue to drive the vehicle if it is not operating properly. Contact your collision insurers at your earliest opportunity.
Should I notify Surrey of the pothole or road hazard?

Yes
Surrey works crew can attend the location and fix the problem.
Will Surrey pay for my vehicle damage?

In most cases - No
As a matter of policy, Surrey relies primarily on the traveling public to report problems with the roads and is not liable for damages sustained to vehicles in the absence of prior notice. City crews respond to repair potholes as quickly as possible once notified.

How to get your money back for pothole damage | CTV Vancouver News

Not sure if the information in the article is still current but it says that you can file a claim with the city to cover the damage.

2 in the left lane northbound. One in between lanes at midspan. Pretty sure my alignment got wrecked because it's vibrating at highway speeds now. Fun. Don't think this would qualify for any claims...?

Is it just me? or are the potholes esp bad this year? It seems like I'm seeing tons of them in a lot of places I drive.

There are a ton of potholes everywhere due to the ice/salt/plows. The one on oak St bridge is still there . I believe the claim process for these is it falls under comp coverage and if it's a known pothole (meaning more than 1 person called it in), the city can reimburse your deductible

+1 for mountain road conditions.

Which is the better drive and view, Cypress Bowl or Mt. Seymour?
Nobody I know has driven either recently so not sure what the road conditions are like.
Any insight helps, thanks!

I am totally gonna welcome that rain. The cars and the streets could both use some good wash down.

because forecasts beyond 3 days are totally reliable and accurate

It's actually not terribly hard to forecast basic trends. Even daily weather reports are actually pretty reliable, it's just that many people don't know how to interpret them.
