Nokians are unbelievable, seriously, words cannot describe just how well they've been performing for me. I was close behind a Fit on the weekend in Abby with a few inches of fresh snow on the road, the Fit slipped and got stuck on a very steep hill, I just reversed and then shot right up the hill like it was dry pavement passing the Fit. I used to have Pirelli Asimettricos and they were pretty good, but not great in really tough conditions.

I parked at the top of the hill then pushed the Fit up btw, I'm not going to leave someone stranded.

I can vouch for nokians, use to have michelin snow tires and when i had them i thought they were good... switched over to nokians from all the raving reviews and not one problem with it. ive been turning right on main streets going 30 with no traction issues.

Euro7r 01-11-2011 09:54 PM

Tempted to go out and just drive in this fresh snow before it disappears

rJZx 01-11-2011 09:56 PM

^ go for it, with all the fucking stupid weather predictions about snowfall...
id enjoy this cause it might be the only one of the season.

there's like only 1cm of snow and the extended buses were already getting stuck going up a TINY hill
that's what you get for cheaping out on winter tire..especially on the extended buses with the long ass wheelbase that angle out ..noobs

I don't think they make snow tires for buses. it's called chains. Go drive a duellly pick up truck with just rear wheel drive and see if it does any better. There's too much surface area so it's not grabbing the pavement.
Even if there is winter tires for buses. i bet you it's not going to help. think of towing a trailer and having the trailer part push your car or truck. Do you think it will go anywhere?? same concept just bigger scale.

Damn it. First snow day of the year and I am not in Vancouver. My car must be covered in snow at YVR though. :D

Btw, taxi drivers in Ottawa is pretty crazy.. Going 100km/h on a frozen road -9 degrees here.

Prob at least 5-6 cm of snow in the wack now. Still coming down well. Really light snow though you can't even make a snowball with it.

Berz out.

Finally put my snow tires into good use! So many unprepaired drivers driving 20km on two lanes, atleast move to the right/slow lane!
