Just went to McDonald's & back. The roads in Vancouver have been cleared and salted. :)

thumper 01-12-2011 06:30 AM

stupid vancouver. same old crap again... barely plowed main roads (king ed. was so bad the buses couldn't pull up to the bus stops and had to stop in the middle of the road), and you can forget about the side streets if you are lowered... i was dragging so much snow started to pile up between my engine and firewall and caused my egt gauge and probe to go nuts :o

Acura604 01-12-2011 06:37 AM

Most schools are open. I think the only colleges that are closed are SFU Burnaby and Douglas.

You guys can keep updated via this link:

Hwy 1 eastbound from 246th on, is terrible. Has not been cleared. Add to this not much traffic heading that way in the morning and the snow gets to pile up. Dumb ass drivers not slowing down when changing lanes or making quick lane changes with little to no warning.

Jsunu 01-12-2011 07:17 AM

Snow tires finally paying their due today. Can't believe the stuff I was able to plow through with my EK:fullofwin:

gloors 01-12-2011 07:17 AM

Lights are out at 41st/Knight, Kingsway/Knight. Noticed on my drive in to work this morning. Had to take sidestreets to make it to work on time. The snow was no trouble with my subie + snowshoes.

Presto 01-12-2011 07:23 AM

Bah... it's starting to melt in Langley. I think that's rain coming down, too.

Greenstoner 01-12-2011 07:23 AM

that was weak snow to be honest...

about 20cm last nite around 1am on my hood and only 3cm left this morning because the rain washed all away

fucking sucks

gloors 01-12-2011 07:26 AM

Oh btw for anyone wanting to take Kingsway lol don't. Traffic from nanaimo to knight street

Vancouver has ~40 plow/salt trucks
Toronto has ~1500 plow/salt trucks

I do not wish to pay more taxes to clear snow a couple days a year. People can deal with it for a few hours until it melts, or grab a shovel.

Berzerker 01-12-2011 08:05 AM

I don't know of any car that has an undertray that blocks between the firewall and the engine.

Berz out.
